Soul's journey and traits

My sim died without completing its Soul's journey. In fact, it completed only the first stage.

Unexpectedly for me, it lost all of its traits that I bought for aspiration points.

What stage exactly is needed for the playable ghost to retain all the traits?

And I am not asking about the Rebirth! Just a simple ghost that is added to the family as playable.
