Enough is Enough. Stop Spending Money.
UPDATE 19/12. So I decided to quit over a week ago, after 8+ long years and a huge amount of money spent. It wasn't easy, but Im glad I did. I started playing raid shadow legends. While its a complete money sink as well, its actually fun and the developers actually care about their playerbase giving a significant amount of free gifts regularly. My only advice for anyone else making the switch is to be patient. There is so much more fun content than SWGOH and I've experienced ZERO bugs so far (Take notes CG). The reason for my update is to just give any other long term players that are thinking about quitting, the confidence to jump ship. Cut your losses with CG. SWGOH unfortunately feels dead. The ship is sinking and Im glad I made the decision to jump off. _________________________________________________ Long time player here. I estimate I've spent $50k+ (AU) on the game. I love Star Wars, which is what drew me to this game in 2017. I spent money to take Luke to 7 stars. I won't be doing this again as its completely pointless and borderline theft, seeing as we were not adequately informed that our investment in a 7-star Luke will not be given to us until after 90 days. What's more concerning than the boring, slap in the face, greedy recent update, are the constant bugs and the lack of communication with the player base. It truly feels like an insult that they have not responded to any concerns and have completely pay-walled new game modes. They have moved past what the essence of a game is meant to be, first and foremost. FUN. Capital Games is in control of one of the (if not THE) biggest IP's that Disney owns, Star Wars, for the Mobile Gaming platform. Not only has the recent mishandling of their 10 year update left a sour taste in the mouths of all players with Capital Games, but it's also effected how I and others feel about Star Wars as a whole. While there hasn't been any recent Star Wars content through Disney, SWGOH is arguably the biggest product that gives Star Wars fans their Star Wars fix. If I were Disney, I would be taking a huge look into this misuse of their IP, because right now, Capital Games are the joke of their industry. I urge all players....STOP SPENDING MONEY. Frankly, the people at Capital Games do not deserve your money. They have just proved time and time again, they are an amateur gaming development company and should not be in control of producing Star Wars content on the Mobile Gaming platform. This has been completely unacceptable, especially for those long-term players who have invested such a significant amount of money into the game. Enough is Enough.2.7KViews62likes17CommentsEnough is enough! Game unplayable for days – and CG/EA stays silent!
For over 3 days now, SWGoH has been completely unplayable on mobile and iOS – constant login errors, endless loops, and absolutely no fix or proper communication from the devs. Thousands of players are affected, and yet Capital Games continues to push out new characters like nothing is wrong. This is not just neglect — it's disrespect. We’ve spent years playing and a lot of money supporting this game, only to be treated like mindless wallets. No transparency, no updates, no accountability. Wake up, everyone! This is daylight robbery and a complete slap in the face to a loyal community. We deserve better – we demand answers and solutions now!Solved745Views28likes11CommentsThe Era mode is the death of swgoh
As a HEAVY spender, I say this unapologetically. The facts are crystal clear. SWGOH is no longer enjoyable. FTP = no win/no fun. Pay = no win/no fun. This game has become a complete money grab. With all the new currencies, hard caps on leveling, gated progress throughout the whole experience in Coliseum and character advancement. Plus, removing the ONE sandbox element we had in the galactic challenges that allowed us to test teams, etc., and replacing it with an insulting "Era Challenge", was the final nail in the coffin. To make it even worse, the rewards for these new "Era Challenges" are a complete f'ng joke. 1600 era currency for completing the last tier? Give me a break. What an insult... 400 crystals gets one 11k minimum from the store. Tossing scraps as an attempt keep the peasants happy while you steal their cows and **bleep** their bank accounts is the reality. You took a game that we all enjoyed, and bent us ALL over. Thank you for the extreme eye opener. We all see what is important to you. It's glaringly evident that it's not your customers or the fans of the IP that you are so lucky to be working on. You should be ashamed of your actions and attempts at shoving this usury down the throats of people worldwide.605Views24likes5CommentsYour update caused LAG
Dear Capital Games, your update has caused severe lag in essentially all game modes: Squad Arena, Fleet, Territory war. One can assume GAC will experience lag as well, so not only do we have to deal with relic delta, we now also have to deal with serve game lag. The lag is making the game almost unbearable and not enjoyable it has costed me personally matches I should of won in territory war, and I suspect it will cost me in GAC I am certain am not the only player to experience this, I think that CG should compensate it’s players for these technical issues.728Views22likes30CommentsFix the game!!!!!!!!! This is not a good day for Galaxy of Heroes. The Order 66 raid is probably one of the most insulting updates we have received. Rushing to implement lore inaccurate unit requirements to drive up profits with marquee characters will do significant damage to the player base. Sure a handful of diehard players who spend money on the new units will play due to buyers remorse and the sunk cost fallacy but it’s not worth it to disenfranchise the casual players who spend money and completely ruin the appeal for free to player players. I am in no way convinced this is good for the future of the game. Players who wanted to relive one of their favorite moments of the franchise have now been robbed of the opportunity. The raid should’ve been completely different. It should’ve been something like pick an Anakin and some clones and get different score modifiers depending on the units you used. Jedi Knight Anakin with any clones would be 0 multiplier. General Skywalker with 501st would be 1.5x/2x score modifier. Lord Vader with dark side clones would be 3x/4x score modifier. There could’ve also been a way to implement the raid so you either play as Vader raiding the temple or play as Jedi staving off his attack. We didn’t get that however. We received a roster of units that make no sense. We have Qui-Gon being eligible despite the fact that he was dust in the wind on Naboo. We have pirates who were never involved in raiding the temple from complete separate time periods far away from Coruscant. We have the bad batch units who were running from the Empire for years after order 66. This update is a disaster. It should not have been released. So little forethought went into this or it was done deliberately to **bleep** interest in the player base. Please go back to the drawing board and correct these mistakes CG.404Views17likes4CommentsGC is now obnoxious to play
this latest update is so bad that I just can’t find much pleasure in playing anymore. It took me a while to figure out why my Jabba squad did not get any rewards for dropping level 9…….. because I did not PURCHASE a pass to collect my loot!?! WTH is this! I have been pretty faithful since game release, and if memory serves, it was right around this time of year. This game has evolved so dramatically to the point where you have to spend. I did in fact spend, not as much as some. This latest move though, to rope us into your store and force us to pay more, that has got to be the biggest **bleep** move this group has done since release, so it’s appropriate for me to say farewell at this full cycle of the anniversary of release. This game has evolved beyond me.355Views16likes5CommentsI'm not sure what's going to happen to my casual guild.
This is a long post. If you're not into that, kindly move along please. First, let me start by defining the word 'casual' as I'm using it here. we don't force anyone to farm anything. we don't kick people for going on vacation/holiday we don't require specific mod scores we don't force people to either join or sit out in TW (if you join, there is a minimum attack banner threshold) deployment and platoon engagement is our only TB requirement we have a very forgiving 3 strikes system in TW for not reaching a minimum number of attack banners our only 'requirements' are a minimum GP, a minimum threshold of engagement in TB, weekly avg of 500+ tickets per day, 30 attack banners in TW if you join, and open communication about when people will not be able to log into the game. 600M+ GP guild here - We are about as laid back and chill as it gets while still having actual rules and expectations. We set guild goals and we work toward them while allowing people to pursue their personal in-game goals at the same time. This means we are always slow to hit new milestones and while that can be a bit frustrating at times, eventually we get there, and the veterans of the guild have come to accept that and we're ok with it. We go out of our way to make the game fun and welcoming for all play styles. We have a few try-hards/whales that really give it their all (knowing that it's a choice that others will not make - and they're ok with that - mostly), a few dolphins that spend when something really appeals to them, and quite a few folks that don't spend at all. Running a guild of this nature has always been a challenge. I've been doing it for several years now and been playing (in the same guild) for almost a decade. I've done it because we have a great and dedicated group of players that care about each other and enjoy playing the game together. Over the past several months we've seen so many changes in the game. Any significant change will produce a certain amount of guild churn - this is expected and normal. Lots of big changes all at once obviously magnify this - we've had several people just quietly stop logging in. No good bye, no 'hey, been busy', no nothing - just disappear. We've had some say, 'life is too busy and I can't keep up with all the changes so I'm moving on.' As a guild leader I've done my best to keep people's expectations and attitudes to the new changes in check - to keep the temperature at a reasonable level so that people don't spiral themselves right into quitting the game. I should add how very much I loathe doing damage control and playing PR guy for CG just to keep morale up among my teammates and keep my guild together and I resent the fact that it's even necessary. Running a guild is fraught enough without that added stress and as an aside, I'd be remiss to not mention that there has never been a single instance in my memory that CG has even acknowledged or paid lip service to the efforts of guild leaders/officers and the benefit CG enjoys from having people willingly, thanklessly, and constantly handle this logistical feat with barely a thought from the studio about how to make that easier, or the additional overhead (both mentally and in terms of time spent) required. The solution has always been 'pay a third party for the tools we can't be bothered to provide.' - obviously I have feelings about that and thoughts on solutions, but I won't belabor the point further. Now to be fair, I've long been a fan of CG - been a card carrying member of the now (effectively) defunct CGDF (CG Defense Force for those of you that haven't been around long) for years now - and I've often - most of the time - overwhelmingly been firmly situated in the 'wait and see' school of thought regarding announced changes to the game. For the most part, most changes to the game over the course of it's long life have been positive, even when those changes didn't initially get positive reception from the players. That said, I'm not one to bite my tongue when there is fair criticism to offer. Things have changed. Let me say that there's no reason to immediately dismiss big changes as bad. But this isn't a matter of, 'oh, this one thing is very different now so let's see how that affects the rest of the game moving forward.' In the last several months in particular, but generally over the course of the last year, we have seen huge changes to every part of the game. We interact with our rosters differently. We interact with PVP differently. We interact with PVE differently. We interact with the stores/shipments and gear/relic economy differently. The process of getting new characters has been turned on its head. The game loop for long time players has been completely changed. We've seen our investments devalued and our rosters have essentially seen a 'soft reset' since the introduction of RD. Where we spend money in the game has shifted. What was good value a year ago is not so much now, and I'm honestly having a hard time figuring out what is good value anymore (which may have been the whole point - which I also have strong feelings about, but I'll move on). My monthly spend has increased to give the new era scheme a chance to show me something great. I've been disappointed with that effort, and if I don't all together leave the game soon, I will certainly curtail my spending quite dramatically. It's simply not worth it anymore. There's a minimum spend required now that is significantly higher than it used to be to remain competitive, in spite of marquee prices having generally fallen. We are squarely into 'the dust has started to settle' - and I'm not feeling great about it, my guild mates are not feeling great about it, and several of my non-guild mate friends (who are typically also 'wait and see' types) are also not feeling great about it. Any one of the changes had the potential to be viewed as a positive for players - but taken all together, we are very much playing a different game from the one we have been dedicated to and enjoyed (and poured money into) for so many years now. CG has rolled back positive changes they made in the past, and instituted new changes that are aggressively anti-player, while their communication about these changes has become more and more anorexic. I want to share just a couple of screenshots from my discord server - these are recent conversations as you'll see from the time stamps. I freely admit that a few opinions on my server from a mix of try-hards and casuals is probably not representative, but it really would not surprise me to find out that these are not in any way unusual. Names and profanities have been redacted to protect both the guilty, and the innocent. General attitude towards the game: Regarding the datacron changes: Regarding Coliseum: I'll stop short of enumerating all the things that have changed in the game - we all know what they are, all the mistakes that have been made - those have been highlighted ad-nauseum, and all the ways things could have been handled better. I'm not going to offer potential solutions - players didn't make this mess and we aren't the ones on the hook for fixing it. In fact, player feedback that was adopted years ago has been rolled back recently so I'm not convinced that even matters anymore. Whatever weight it was ever given is certainly not on balance with what's going on now. What it comes down to is - I can't defend any of this. I don't like most of it. I don't know who all these changes are for unless they're strictly for CGs benefit (which is honestly the most likely scenario). And I don't know how much longer I'll spend trying to give it a chance. I feel like I've given it all the appropriate 'wait and see' interval and I'm not sure that what I'm seeing is what I want to keep spending my money on. I don't know who this post is for. Maybe it's just for me to say things that I need to say. Maybe it's for someone else to get some validation about what they're seeing and know they're not crazy. Maybe it's for CG to get a real temperature about what people are saying or thinking. Or maybe it's screaming into the void because that feels like the only thing we can do about... all of the things, game related or otherwise. Regardless - I said what I said. Take it or leave it. Love y'all.428Views14likes8CommentsPSA: Refunds
I have been playing for 10 years now. The latest update was a direct message from CG that I am not the player they want as a customer. I have made the easy decision to stop playing the game. I requested a refund for the past year from Apple. I was refunded every purchase for the last 6 months. This is why it is important to never make purchases through the webstore. EA has the worlds worst customer service and they will never give any refunds. If you plan on quitting, make sure to contact IOS store or Google Play store and get a lot of money back on your way out.1.8KViews12likes33CommentsDone with SWGOH
First, thank you to those you work hard and have good ideas that are never introduced into the game and instead we get whatever this BS is. Your entire update is a cash grab and pay to win only. Nothing is F2P or new player friendly. Coliseum. It is boring and is a whaler/spend to play/ cashgrab mode only. If you dont spend money you dont get high enough on leaderboards to get any amount of a useful reward. Plus whose idea was it that at a certain point you can only do 1 damage? Also you dont let us mix and match the team, you force us to use certain characters. The new characters. First its takes 3 months to fully get them, how does that make us equal. 2nd - $300 doesnt even get you a full character. it gets you only 6 stars and gear xIII. You cant even use these characters at that level because of relic delta. you once said this was going to be f2p & new player friendly, i guess we must have different definitions of this. You said this would put everyone on a even playing field. It clearly wont and on top of that it still still too long, and honestly seems even longer to get characters, let alone it costing way more too. Grand Arena. Matchmaking is still broken. Game lags and times you out almost every battle. Its NOT FUN. This gamemode kept many around and now will keep many people quitting your game. There is also no more strategy in this gamemode. Relic Delta. Yall should be ashamed. You didnt need this. Everyone told you not to do this. GA is not fun anymore, there is no strategy. TW, TB are going to be awful. Conquest, yeah cool u lowered the relic levels but still going to be awful. All this based on ONE ROUND of GA. Teams that were easily beaten now run through everyone like its nothing because of a relic level difference. Also that change you made that we can get relics on non 7 stars, IRRELEVANT now, so pointless work put into it that you killed your own GREAT IDEA. This is not right CG. There is zero point to have this in your game. Relic Lvls. First Relic 10 is EXTREMELY expensive even for whales. Second - you did nothing to make it easier to go from Relic 1 to Relic 7. Sure it might be slightly easier from R7-R9 but you havent done anything significant about the bottlenecks still. If you wanted to make it easier, maybe eliminate the gear scrapping need in relics (so all the components needed) and just keep it to Relic Mats only? This is every player friendly. Journey Guide. I hate to say it but clearly yall dont test your game fully. You CANT complete any journey guide that has loaned characters because of your relic delta. Which means players cant progress their teams and accounts. which in turn makes the game STALE and NOT FUN. Example: Starkiller event. Journey Quests. This is a good idea on the surface. I like them alot. HOWEVER, some of the requirements to unlock them, are NOT new player friendly as you previously stated they would be. Example: Full Rebel team. Example: Inflict Vulnerability. Some minor tweaks to that and this would be outstanding. Galatic Challenges. Should have NEVER be removed or replaced. They werent the nest but they were way better than what we have now. Raids. Extremely boring. Not enough rewards given all the new changes even before this update. Store Changes. I like the Relic material being cheaper, HOWEVER, i think you should delete that component material and make relics be mats ONLY. Plus because you made it cheaper, its now a issue of we dont have enough rewards for everything. That gear of the lower currency is very useful to new players and now your putting them and F2P in a bad spot to chose or SPEND MONEY. Again forcing pay to play. Currency. Way to much. There is over 17 different currencies in the game. This is insane and not needed. Plus half the currencies in the game barely get you anything worth while. You could easily combine say Cantina Currency & the silver brick currency into one currency & reward section. I appreciate the countless work you guys did to put this update together but this just isnt it. Thousands of people are leaving by the day based on posts and comments from all sources. The game is still stale. The characters are very underwhelming. The ability to be a F2P or New player is near impossible now (which shouldnt have been the goal). The whales even think this entire update isnt good. There is no more strategy. But worst of all, there is NO MORE FUN. Just who cane get those 3 wacky numbers on the back of grandmothers credit card inserted quickest. If you want to keep the game alive and keep the fan base here so you can keep studio lights on, I highly suggest listening to the community and make sweeping changes asap or you might lose the ability to save the game.323Views12likes5Comments
