Go back to the drawing board CG

This is not a good day for Galaxy of Heroes. The Order 66 raid is probably one of the most insulting updates we have received. Rushing to implement lore inaccurate unit requirements to drive up profits with marquee characters will do significant damage to the player base. Sure a handful of diehard players who spend money on the new units will play due to buyers remorse and the sunk cost fallacy but it’s not worth it to disenfranchise the casual players who spend money and completely ruin the appeal for free to player players. I am in no way convinced this is good for the future of the game. Players who wanted to relive one of their favorite moments of the franchise have now been robbed of the opportunity. The raid should’ve been completely different.

It should’ve been something like pick an Anakin and some clones and get different score modifiers depending on the units you used. Jedi Knight Anakin with any clones would be 0 multiplier. General Skywalker with 501st would be 1.5x/2x score modifier. Lord Vader with dark side clones would be 3x/4x score modifier. There could’ve also been a way to implement the raid so you either play as Vader raiding the temple or play as Jedi staving off his attack.

We didn’t get that however. We received a roster of units that make no sense. We have Qui-Gon being eligible despite the fact that he was dust in the wind on Naboo. We have pirates who were never involved in raiding the temple from complete separate time periods far away from Coruscant. We have the bad batch units who were running from the Empire for years after order 66.

This update is a disaster. It should not have been released. So little forethought went into this or it was done deliberately to **bleep** interest in the player base. Please go back to the drawing board and correct these mistakes CG.

Couldn't have said it better myself Echo. This could have been the best raid by far. Sure the rest of them have some cool mechanics or maybe lore behind them but the feelings everyone I think get from hearing Palpatine utter the words " Execute Order 66" are beyond words. They are forever engraved in our minds and our hearts. This is a cheap attempt to promote content that most players never asked for and have absolutely no relevance with this period. Today is a sad day for SWGOH. Hope you can turn it around somehow.

  • Just FYI my Tarkin (R7) scorch (R7) cx2(R7) appo (R6) and disguised trooper (R5) can barely kill 1 enemy in tier 3 and they are orettt nicely modded.

my master windu (R7) temple guard (R7) depa (R5) and 2 filler (mostly tried lumi and shaak) could get 200k on tier3

but my guild mate kbeq lumi plo kin gui gon and shaak got 450k easy.

at least know the ppl who paid for the new characters to unlock them (most of them day 1) also got **bleep**ted on with this raid.

*"Could have been*" is basically the entire summary of the ROTS 'era'.

We could've had more than 2 units from ROTS - one who only appeared in a deleted scene (and 4 animated spinoff characters).

We could've had an epic Order 66 raid - loreful and fun.

We could've had events and teams to celebrate the 20th anniversay of an epic movie.

    What could've been.

"Could have been" is the entire summary of the last year.  Numerous bugs, lazy releases, apathetic assembly lines of "new stuff", no quality assurance, no testing, no communication other than release info Meathead gives us, no updates to TW, GAC, TB (other than new planets with higher requirements we have to spend on), a raid every 6-9 months that's taken over a year to release and this is it?

Meanwhile, the creative director for Dune Awakening just put out a letter stating, "we're listening and we're working to fix things!" with a pretty specific list of player concerns.  I remember when CG leadership used to do that.  (Back when Gamers were running things at CG.)  Now we just have "someone" hiding in their office pushing "shut up and spend money on new shinies!" as a mission priority.

At least this raid isn't as bad as Naboo, I guess?  I'll spend far less money for a few months-at least-on the game, so there's that.
