DAI Crashes randomly during gameplay
Hi here's what I know The game crashes seemingly at random as I've managed to play for a couple hours for at least a few sessions with no issues but sometimes I can't go 1 minute without the game crashing. There is no error message just a crash which restarts my PC or sometimes completely freezes it and I have to manually restart. I am playing through the Epic Games app via EA app I've tried fresh reinstall I play the game in windowed fullscreen on low settings but it worth noting that my PC is powerful enough to run it higher this was simply to try fix the issue. I have allowed the app through my antivirus all my graphics drivers are up to date Any help is appreciated as I am about to give up on it.DATV Won't Open
As of a week or so ago my Dragon Age game WILL NOT OPEN. I have tried everything I can think of (uninstall/reinstall, run as admin, delete shade cache, check file integrity through steam, updated drivers) NOTHING has worked. When I go to open the game (through steam or using the desktop shortcut) it will pop up like the game is trying to load, but it never get farther than a white screen before crashing and closing the window. I am lost and utterly heartbroken. I have over 100 hours in the game and only 6 achievements away from completing the game entirely. Please somebody tell me there is a fix for this.
When loading, get a black screen with the game still loading
For some reason over the last couple of days, I have been dealing with whenever I try to load the game after I stop playing for a bit, I get a black screen that loads and then sits there and it seems like nothing happens but the game does load and then I can hear the sound and everything and can hear when my mouse seemingly goes over the menu options. I have tried the following: Updated Graphics drivers to the latest Updated Windows to the latest Verified Game Files Deleted the shader cache Rolled back my Graphics driver to an earlier version to see if that works. The only thing that seems to work is uninstalling the game and reinstalling...which is insanely annoying to do. At this point I'll keep reinstalling to be able to play the game....but it's annoying.
FPS drops and No DLSS
Hey! I'm not sure if anyone has been experiencing this problem, but I've been noticing an issue where performance will worsen over a session. Typically I'll start off with 60+FPS, but an hour later I can visit the same area and only be getting 30FPS. This seems to worsen when I visit a new area for example Crossroads -> arlathan forest. I'll load into this area and be getting 20 FPS. However, if I exit the game and then reload it I'll be getting 40+ FPS? Seems to me like there might be a memory leak going on, or the game is trying to keep previous areas loaded. Another issue that's really been bugging me is that DLSS is not appearing as an upscaling option. I was able to use DLSS for the first couple hours of my playthrough, but then it disappeared as an option and now only AMD and Intel Upscaling are listed as available. I tried to verify the integrity of my files, which didn't help. At the moment the only way I can get DLSS is if I force it through GeForce Experience. However, if I restart the game this option will disappear again
Game Save Progress Missing
For the last couple gaming sessions, Dragon Age Veilguard has lost the most recent saved progress. For my last manual save, my character was in Arlithan Forest, standing in front of Harding to take the boat to the next area, and when I came back a day later the save was gone. The last manual and automatic saves are oddly in the exact same spot, and I've probably lost about an hours worth of progress, along with multiple manual and automatic saves. I opened a case with EA, but is anyone else encountering this problem?
Fresh install stuck on Download in Progress
I just installed the game on PS5 and when I launch the game it says “Download In Progress”. It’ll let me create a character but once I finish creating it pops and alert that asks me to “Please wait for installation to finish”. It’s been sitting for over an hour now with that message still spinning.Veilguard frequently crashing
I ike the game to bits but the crashing thats going on is becoming a real annoyance, and I have seen multiple other users reporting the same issues. Playing the game through steam the game frequently crashes, especially during high instensity scenes, but can also happen during loading screens, going to different areas and seemingly at random. Every crash is related, to DirectX12, and the error message I've seen popping up the most "OnGPUChainSwap". And don't even bother telling me to check my requirements, I know the CPU is old and I'm not on the latest of AMD GPUs, but the error message is always Direct X related. I have updated and and clean installed GPU drivers through the AMD software multiple times since the I first noticed the crashes. Something is causing the game to crash when handing things over to DX12. Attached is the DxDiag file
