Weekly weapons Scrap Exchange updates
I have calculated the theoretical amout of scraps you would need if every item would appear in the weekly exchange and you could buy it that way. Amount of scraps needed by category and total: 10.000 x 17 = 170.000 2.000 x 195 = 390.000 800 x 262 = 209.600 300 x 372 = 111.600 TOTAL x 846 = 881.200 Puzzles are NOT taken into account here! Meaning the number would be higher still. But since you tend to get all pieces over time with the OP Battlepacks I excluded them from here. At least without the special rare melee weapons which are otherwise unobtainable like the Ararebo, Coupe Coupe, Arditi Dagger(still unobtainable, has never been seen in the exchange) and Barbed Wire Bat If we assume the average loot per day looks like this we roughly get 1k scraps every day 30+90+270 & 90+270+270 = 1020/day Now that we have the total amount of scraps needed and a rough estimate on the average loot based on personal experience from over 1 year of daily grinding we can calculate how many days of grinding we need to earn the necessary scraps to be able to buy every skin in the game which looks like this: 881.200/1020 = 863.922 days This accumulates to this timeframe of DAILY grinding needed to earn every skin in the game: 2 years 4 months ~2 weeks (11 days) Again, this is assuming all skins where available in the exchange which is far from the case making the situation even worse. This timeframe is unacceptable for a AAA game you paid over 100€ for at release, me included. Some free2play games involve less grinding than this just to earn some textures. I understand that there was monetary incentive behind making the game intentionally grindy (though I still find this practice to be in a AAA game unacceptable by principle) to boost Battlepack sales. But this game is almost 8 years old now and I really doubt you're making anywhere close to the amount of money compared to the release period. Meaning there is no more incentive to make this game intentionally grindy anymore. My suggestion would be to either remove the daily limit of Operation Battlepacks, increase the limit from 2 to something like 4 or 5 per day or have them drop 2 or 3 crates instead of 1 at a time. Unlike currently this is much more respectful of the players time. Money is one thing but to disrespect the players time to this extent when we know that everyones time is limited both in daily terms and total just so you get some textures is ridiculous. Due to the age of the game please reconsider the current way of earning scraps to make it more tolerable. I've come too far to give up now but most people don't have this patience. Me included (for future or other games) since this will be the last game I'll grind this much for. If the next Battlefield turns out to be this grindy I'll really think twice before buying something which doesn't respect anyones time. I've been playing for about 3 hours and the game launches smooth, runs fantastic, but after 3 or 4 games it will crash. The audio will loop (sometimes) and the video will freeze. There doesn't seem to be any reason for it in game. Getting real sick of doing something important and watching it freeze up and die on me. What's going on? Running Windows 7. Everything is up to date. I shouldn't be having any problems. (E.g. on the deploy screen/ when player clicks deploy) What Version of the PS3 or Xbox360 do you have (Slim, Super Slim, 1 st generation) What class were you playing at the time the game froze Do you have any additional information for us? Please make sure that you provide us the information in the form above. You can post any additional information under point 5. You should all make sure that you have tried the following workarounds in advance: PS3 Update: If you are experiencing crashing issues while playing as support, please do not select "Indirect Fire" or "Perimeter Defense" as your FIELD UPGRADE. Clear your game data; This will clear temporary and downloadable files from the PS3 hard drive; some games may need to redownload patches or updates after the game data is removed. WEAPONS / GADGET TWEAKS Increased the damage of the normal buckshot against targets with Body Armor. Reduced the vertical recoil of the M4 and M16A4 to give these burst fire weapons a tighter burst accuracy in their mid- to long range role. Reduced the side-to-side and first shot recoil of the G36C. This weapon now has the lowest side-to-side recoil of the carbines, giving it a clear controllable low rate of fire role, especially when compared to the AK5C, Type-95B-1 and the AKU-12. Tweaked the detonation time of the 40mm LVG so it bounces less before going off. The maximum damage has however been reduced to 80 like the RGO. Reduced the number of how many 40mm HE and LVG rounds players can carry, from 4 to 3. Increased the time it takes to get new 40mm round from ammo boxes. The time is longer for HE and LVG grenades and shorter for utility grenades like SMK and FLASH. GRENADE TWEAKS Increased the time it takes to get new RGO IMPACT, V40 MINI, M84 FLASHBANG and M18 SMOKE grenades from ammo boxes. Since the player now carries more of these grenades, the resupply delay needed to be longer to prevent grenade spamming. VEHICLE TWEAKS Significantly improved the suppression from mounted vehicle weapons, including miniguns, HMGs, LMGs, and all shells types for all armored vehicles. AIRCRAFT TWEAKS Further reduced the repair rate for the Scout Helicopters and the Transport Helicopters. Significantly increased the damage of Transport Helicopter miniguns. Changed the flight ceilings on Gulf of Oman, Caspian Border and Operation Firestorm to better match the height of the structures in those levels. Adjusted the damage of the 25mm and 30mm cannons for both Attacks Jets and Mobile AA to be equal in Damage Per Second to the 20mm default weapons. These weapons were clearly poorer choices in all circumstances, and their different rates of fire are intended to be the player's choice factor for these weapon systems. AC-130 GUNSHIP TWEAKS Increased the splash damage and the range at which the JDAM bombs can achieve max splash damage. The JDAM's power was not properly balanced with its difficulty to use. The JDAM remains a primarily anti-vehicle weapon, though this change will increase the effectiveness against all targets. Increased the accuracy and direct hit damage of the AC130 40mm cannons. 40mm cannons can now be used to fire pinpoint shots in 2-3 round bursts, enabling them to provide accurate fire on infantry and vehicle targets. Their velocity has also been marginally increased to aid their accuracy. Increased the splash damage and range of the AC130 25mm cannons. These cannons now do approximately 50% more damage, in a slightly increased area of impact. The increased damage as well as increased suppression effects will allow the 25mm cannon to fill its role as an area of effect weapon against infantry. This topic is only for the freeze issues during loading screen. If you experience other issues, like a crash with a network error message or a crash during the game, please check our board first. We merged several topics in this one to help our team gathering your feedback and provide information and updates for you all. If you want to provide us details about your issue, please post your hardware and software specifications (we would need your driver built and your version of windows). I have a strange issue. out of 12GB of ram, 94% is pegged but it shows no process taking it up, it happens about 20 minutes into game and it gets really choppy. BF4 seems to be eating it up but I'm not sure for what.. When going into task manager, it won't show a single program taking the memory.. it's leaking and ruining my game! Recently, i bought BF3 on Steam. Then i entered the Battlelog via EA Play and invite my friend to coop but while it launches the game EA gives me an screen about entering the product key. I tried the look my product's key on Steam or EA-Play but i didn't see an option like that in both platforms. I tried launching game on Steam, EA Play, Directly shortcut but it gives me the same screen. What should i do? Thanks. I have had the same exact problem in the BF4 beta and I didn't think I would get the same problem in the full game. This lag seems to only affect me and it doesn't matter what game I'm in at all. This lag seems to pull my character back a couple feet every 3-7 seconds, sometimes when I reload it will show the animation of reloading but it never actually reloaded, same with switching between weapons or equipment. It will sometimes just show the animation and not actually do as I intended. This is very frustrating and I don't know how to fix it. All other games and fps games seem to play perfectly fine, completely lagless. I have a new 2013 Alienware 17 with a GTX780m and fairly good hardware but I don't know what to do. The infamous "NP Pool Memoryleak" problem. I've decided to gather information about it so it can hopefully get some attention. Click the "Me too" button if you have this problem. Write here if you have information to contribute. Posts about other problems and other non-helpfull posts will be removed at my discretion. Also, please note I do not work for EA so no need to complain about things, this is a constructive thread. Symptoms: Non paged pool (NPP) memory gets filled up with garbage. Normally it's only filled up with around 200-300mb of data but after the memory leak happens it takes of the remainding memory causing BF4 and the system to grind to a hault. Due to the nature of NPP this garbage cannot be removed from occupying space in the memory until you reboot the system. BF4.exe is not using more memory than normal, not the private working set or the paged pool Example: Ive got 8GB of memory, during play 250MB of NPP memory is used, then the memory leak happens and suddenly 5.2GB of my memory is lost and being used for nothing due to this bug. When does it happen: The memory leak happens after mapchange, but otherwise somewhat random. The main trend is that mapchange causes the memoryleak and it then takes some time to fill up the memory depending on the speed and amount of memory. Systems affected: Win 8 (mostly 8.1) Radeon HD 5xxx, HD6xxx, HD7xxx and R series Very few Nvidia has said it affected them as well but is deemed unlikely as none would provide a screenshot showing it's the non paged pool Things people have mentioned helped: Running BF4 in Win7 compability (not working for the majority and causing other problems) Exiting the game before mapchange (working, but not a solution) Alt+tab during load of new map (not working) Running Catalyst Control Center(CCC) in Win7 compability (not working for the majority ) Using the standard default windows 8.1 driver or Cataclyst 13.9 with all the other errors etc. that follows (not working for the majority ) Updating Realtek network driver from Realtek's website as the win8 standard driver could cause this (reported to solve similar problem) Disabling NDU using: "sc config NDU start= disabled" in a commandprompt (reported to solve similar problem) Possible causes: The game just don't like those graphics cards even though it has the AMD logo on it. Click "Play game" on Origin, redirects to battlelog, for some reason it's not auto-signed in, so I try to sign it, then it just redirects to "wrong email or password". Tried on 3 different browsers. Same email and password as my Origin (and this, so it's not like I've forgotten my details). There's currently problems causing connection problems meaning the game probably wont work. This is affecting online play, Battlelog and all platforms. EA / DICE is aware of this and working on the problem.
