OpenXR motion compensation issues...
So I've been struggling trying to get OpenXR motion compensation (OpenXR MC) working with EA WRC. I am using an eRacing Labs motion system, Pimax Crystal and Simhub. With OpenXR MC installed EA WRC exits right after displaying the second splash screen. If I remove OpenXR MC from the PC then EA WRC will start... re-install OpenXR MC and EA WRC is back to not starting. Found a single post on steam that mentioned if you set "overlay_enabled = 0" in the ini file that OpenXR installs (in the directory \Users\*Your_Username*\AppData\Local\OpenXR-MotionCompensation\) then EA WRC will start. Tried that and, sure enough, EA WRC starts and I can use the keyboard shortcuts defined in the OpenXR MC ini file to configure and use motion compensation with EA WRC. Yay! And once you run it once you then have an EA WRC specific ini file in that folder to which I added the: overlay_enabled = 0 and restored overlay_enabled = 1 in the main ini file (for all the other VR games that aren't broken like EA WRC is). I tried to submit a case/bug report to EA around this in hopes it gets fixed (so one can leverage the OpenXR toolkit menu/overlay) before EA totally abandons this title but EA makes it hard (actually impossible from what I can see) to submit a bug report so I'm ranting about this here in the hope that EA sees this and maybe fixes it in a patch (wishful thinking). At least this may help other VR users with motion who are struggling with this as I was.49Views0likes0Comments- Sterling4314 months agoNew Rookie21Views0likes0Comments
Pimax "Render Quality" vs SteamVR "Resolution per Eye"
How exactly do these two settings interact, and how should they be set? I'm using an RTX 5080 with the Crystal Light. It's really unfortunate we can't use OpenXR with this game, in order to eliminate SteamVR entirely. Thanks!moogleslam5 months agoNew Scout78Views0likes0CommentsProper VR Update
Hp reverb G2.....Will we ever get a proper vr update at this point? It would be nice if there were some regular dev updates on the matter, keeping us informed or have I missed something? It's been more than a year and I'm getting tired of the checking and the continued waiting game. I enjoyed the game for a short time when the vr worked ok.....But that was a long time ago it seems. Since then it's been nothing but a bunch of frustrating disappointments!a428y0cwhbgk7 months agoNew Novice207Views1like0CommentsCustom Egine.ini for vr
Custom Engine.ini for vr. I have a 4090 so adjust parameters for your system. This is my personal Pref after 380 something hrs in this game. I have adjusted the draw distance on trees etc so there is good detail around the track still without needing too much clutter in the distance cause let's be honest, who has time to take in the scenery when you on the limit! :D Feel free to tinker and give feedback if possible. Hope this helps someone. Just copy paste contents into an open instance of engine.ini located @ users//appdata/local/wrc/saved/config/windowsnoeditor. Don't forget to save. https://pastebin.com/e8mUXgE2 In game parameters foveated 1x dlss balanced shadows and shaders high Fog off Crowd, post proc, weather, mirrors, skiddies all off or low medium object med particles ultra track, textures high trees and shrubbery 😉Sokittoya76A7 months agoRising Adventurer331Views0likes0CommentsNot running as it should in VR
I'm having a problem in WRC and playing in VR. I have a really good setup comprising of an AM5 Ryzen 9 processor, RTX 4080 superoverclock, 128GB DDR5 memory and running from M.2 SSD. I find that no matter what settings I choose, my HTC Vive Pro 2 just stutters. It's mainly during loading, which tends to hurt my eyes as the displays become unbalanced but I do have a brurred line across the screen when racing. With my current setup I should be able to max out all my settings on any game but I am really struggling to get WRC to run good in VR. I haven't tried the 2D version as I am not interested in that. All the F1 titles run seamlessly, even when all settings are maxed out. I'd really like to figure out what is going on with this so I can continue playing. Thanks in advance207Views0likes0Comments- a428y0cwhbgk8 months agoNew Novice257Views0likes0Comments
Pimax Crystal problem running the game in VR
Hello, I just got EA WRC but I have trouble starting the game in VR. I have a Pimax Crystal headset. What happens when I start the game is that I see the EA Sports video properly in the headset and I get the question whether I want to play the game in VR or not. After that I briefly see the health warning but then my headset shows only the standard steam VR grid. The game starts and I can hear the music but the steam VR grid is all that is displayed in the headset. I have changed to steamVR OpenXR. Any ideas how to start troubleshooting this?512Views0likes0CommentsStuck in loading screen
My game stucks often in loading screen in either before choosing a car or after. There is a promt to continue but nothing is registered. I can look around (I'm in VR) and music sound plays normally, but can't continue. Only solution so far has been close game from windows and restart, then it works pretty randomly. My setup: 13700kf 2070 super Valve index Win 11. Any solutions?491Views0likes0CommentsPSVR2 + Radeon GPU has unplayable stutter (100ms frame times) possibly EA AC bug
I should note that since the patch 1.8 I've logged dozens of hours with no major stutter or crashing issues on two other headsets, including after 1.9. Excluding the end-stage performance bug mentioned in another thread So this is exclusively since installing the PSVR2. And it seems Nvidia users don't have this issue. I've tried different drivers, they all have more or less the same result. Like this: A handful of times I was able to get stutter free gameplay after changing to a different driver, which forced EAWRC to recompile shaders. But then it would just crash after sometime. I also noticed that every time I reinstalled EA anti-cheat, the stutters would return. It's possible this maybe some odd interaction between EA anticheat and the shader cache, triggered by a new (to PC) headset? Can anybody else reproduce this? It seems to drop the resolution scale to percentage you set for the upper limit, and then never adjusts. Also, it doesn't even really save between stages. You have to go into the basic graphics settings at the start of the stage, then back out, for the resolution scale to change. And there isn't an option to actually set a frame rate target for the dynamic res. I assume it was supposed to be the refresh rate?ShearersHedge11 months agoRising Adventurer590Views0likes0Comments- 424Views0likes0Comments
New Patch - VR no longer working - Have tried Everything - Please Help
I know others are having the same problem as me since the new patch - im looking for any advice to try to resolve this I am on a reverb G2 headset I have tried all suggestions made here and on discord - including 2 full uninstalls of both Steam VR and WRC. Reduced the resolution of headset to the minimum, changed the OpenXR to SteamVR etc. nothing has worked and whenever i start WRC as soon as i click the prompt to enable VR, Steam VR immediately crashes. I can still play WRC in pancake mode if i dont change the Open XR settings - but as soon as i do i get a Steam VR crash. PLEASE -has anyone any suggestions on how to resolve - there seems to be minimal/ no response from EA, just helpful players on this forum and discord. I think EA could at lease respond with a suggestion - they must see this issue their side. All was fine pre-patch525Views0likes0Commentsv1.9 frame timing not stable
While performance has never been great previous to v1.9 I had been able to have a mostly stable framerate with adjusted settings and lower render resolution. Since the 1.9 update the frame timing seems to have changed and there are now constant micro stutters even when the gpu is not maxed out. The gpu is busy for sure but it just never settles almost like the frame delivery / timing / pacing is being interrupted causing late frames to get dropped by the vr compositor.472Views0likes0CommentsAudio interface cannot be selected correctly
Meta Quest 3 AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT My computer has several audio interfaces: Realtek, Oculus and Focusrite. I expect the game to use the current primary device set in Windows, which it does in the flat screen version of the game. In VR it ignores this setting and always chooses the Focusrite. The only workaround is to disable the audio interface, then switch the primary to Oculus, then start the game and then reverse again afterwards. Let me know if you need further info. Thank you.298Views0likes0CommentsSteering wheel of Builder Car in VR not moving
I build a car in career mode and tested all of the available steering wheels. All of them are turned 90° right and not moving at all. This also makes it hard to watch the gear and rpm etc. Also finishing the build and testing it in races did not change anything. Still no movement of the steering wheel. I am playing in VR without driver avatar269Views0likes0Comments
