Online - 4-player turn-based stroke play
This is a topic that I'm seeing more and more of on Reddit and Operation Sports forums. This is a fantastic game, areas need work though. But the major deal breaker for me and many others is the ability to play in a group of 4 online and see each other's shots (turn-based). This style of play captures the essence of real golf. This is the most classic way of enjoying the game. If I switch on the golf channel now, that's how people play on the PGA tour. In a group of 4, and turn-based. In a golf game, this is how friends come together and enjoy the game. Its how online golfers meet new players too, and golf games are great for casual chat and meeting new people. I really hope you plan to add this mode in EA, its a game changer for me and others. The classic EA games did this, 2k added it in after the community requested it too. Well done on the game and fingers crossed this gets added as soon as possible.4.3KViews41likes104CommentsThe PGA Tour Community Wishlist - Add yours!
What features would everyone like to see in this game? Here are a few that I have discussed between me and my friends who still play Rory from 2016: 1. Bring back Game Face! 2. Extensive create a player. Body types, hair, facial hair, etc. (not every golfer has an “athletic build”) 3. Heartbeat Moments in Online Multi-player. 4. An agreement with equipment vendors to where if you buy a driver or irons or shoes etc. in real life, they give you a code to access them in-game. 5. Free-moving camera around the green when you finish a hole to watch your friends putt. 6. No automatic “recommended” club in hand at any shot. 7. Caddie notes from playing a hole in a practice round. 8. Driving Range time in the lobby while waiting for players to load in before a round starts. Or: 9. Player clothes and accessory change capabilities in the lobby before a round starts. 10. Leaderboards among friends (long drive on each course, longest putt, best round..etc) What do y’all think? Any others? (CM: Edited to update thread title)14KViews40likes508CommentsFeedback - Using 2 created golfers when playing with someone else
My wife and I created own characters and played locally againts each other in old EA Sports golf games. The characters we created had their own look, clothing and skills and these characters could improve their skills by performing tasks. We could choose where to play and so on. Is this kind of activity possible in EA Sports PGA Tour 2023?20KViews30likes229CommentsPrivate Match - Alternating shots in stroke play and other game modes

I wanted to thank and acknowledge the job the Community Managers are doing on this forum. They keep control of polsters that can get out of hand and personal, but have allowed us to post some pretty inflammatory comments that doesn't put their brand in the best light without censoring any content. Well I have had one post I remember being edited. But overall they have been fair and extremely resilient in the onslaught of negative comments heaved their way. I just wanted to acknowledge that what they are doing has not been lost on me. Thank you for your work.253Views21likes2CommentsEA Sports PGA Tour - Happy National Video Games Day!🕹⛳
Hey PGA Community, Since EA Sports PGA Tours launch we've loved to see the community grow and share their experience. Did you know that the first video game was released more than six decades ago? On our side, we have an extensive and fascinating history that extends over 40 years. So many memories, stories, and anecdotes that we wouldn't mean anything without our community. So, what better way to celebrate National Video Games Day (September 12th) than here with everyone… For all of us here, video games are much more than simply entertainment; they connect us with friends and family, teach us lessons, inspire us to develop our creativity, challenge us to learn new skills, and show the value of working together as a team. There is always a game for everyone, no matter their age, culture, or style; in fact, it has become a way of life for some of us (tell me about it 😅). With that in mind, we were curious if you had any plans to celebrate National Video Games Day on September 12th. What was the best moment you've had in PGA Tour? or is there another way you might celebrate the day?EA_Illium2 years agoCommunity Manager206Views21likes0CommentsNo Stars - Challenges not registering upon completion.

I'm disabled; my days are spent going to work, coming home and drinking a cold beer. That has recently been happily added to playing a round of golf a night; recently winning "The Players". Imagine my surprise to see the work and dedication going into the presentation and design of a championship 4 rounds of golf. Made me very happy; I am looking forward to qualifying for the Masters. If a few tweaks, added store, and some more patches are in the works; then this will be the greatest golf game ever made. Thank you very much for all your hard work and dedication to making this lonely guy happy.835Views19likes11CommentsEA Sports PGA Tour - Spooky Links!👻💀
Hey PGA Tour Community, With Spooky Season here and Halloween fast approaching I wanted to ask the community if you have any recommendations on Scary Movies about Golfing (or on a golf course). If you have a design you like be sure to share it below as well. If you haven't seen any of the new Halloween items, here is a sneak peak (items available at different Pro Pass levels) See you out there, and watch out for zombies!EA_Illium2 years agoCommunity Manager751Views18likes7CommentsUpdate on EA SPORTS PGA TOUR

How are there no private matches except non-turn stroke? I mean, you have all these game modes, stroke, match, best ball, alt shot, etc that I love to play. But you don’t offer them in a private match!? Only local or vs cpu ai!? All I want to do is invite my friends to play any of those game modes. Or at the very least give us the option to do turn based stroke. But even that would get boring quick. It make’s absolutely no sense. You call this a next gen game yet it’s basically a single player game. It’s a shame cause me and my buddies have been waiting for this game for years! Thinking we’ll finally be able to play an EA golf game together online. But No. what a let down. Again, it’s just straight up baffling how a next gen game that has online play, doesn’t have any sort of constructed layout for private matches. A real shame.10KViews14likes19CommentsMy impressions thus far. Some good, a lot of bad.
I have Play Pro on PC, and have put probably about 7 or 8 hours into the game so far. My PC specs: i9 10900K stock RTX 3080 10GB 32GB RAM I don't have a lot of time, so I'll keep it simple and give 5 good and 5 bad impressions.... Positives: 1. Game is frickin gorgeous. Without a doubt the prettiest golf game ever made. Aside from a few inconsistently dropped frames on fly-bys and ball follows, it's smooth as glass. Playing some of the coastal holes is sweet therapy. I did notice a couple of small texture issues, but nothing major and almost not worth mentioning. 2. Sounds are great. The ocean, the birds, the ambient sounds... all wonderful. Like the graphics, therapeutic. I also love how the crowd hushes when you're ready to shoot. Nice touch. 3. Overall, the presentation is really good. I mean *really* good. It looks and sounds like a modern PGA game should, which lends a strong sense of authenticity. Very attractive. 4. Gameplay is, overall, very good. Now that I've spent some time with it, and improved my golfer's accuracy skills a bit, I find it has a nice balance. Challenging, but fair. I play on the hardest difficulty, with all aids turned off except the power meter. All is not perfect, however. Far from it. 5. A proper career mode with real major tournments, with adjustable AI difficulty before you start a tournament. I truly appreciate this. Bonus: When I was 18, the original PGA Tour for Sega Genesis was released. I *loved* that game, and readily recall how much I thought about it when I wasn't playing it. It was something I always wanted to get back to whenever possible, and it actually got me interested in real golf. Same with TW14, which I consider to be the best golf game ever made. At the height of it, it's all I wanted to play. And when this new game is firing on all cylinders, it gives me the same feeling those older games did. It makes me want to play as much, and as often, as I can. Unfortunately, it doesn't always fire on all cylinders and, in some ways, feels like it's half-baked, and simply not ready for release. In others, it feels completely at odds with the authenticity established by the presentation. Negatives: 1. No mouse swing. On a PC golf game? This is just patently ridiculous, especially considering the pedigree of TW games on the PC. I know 3C is coming, but something tells me mouse swing isn't. And I am equal parts angry and stupefied. 2. Shot feedback does not always equal what happens on a shot. Far too often, probably around 1 in 5 shots, a shot will go errant, to varying degrees, while the feedback shows everything was good. Or, conversely, feedback will show trouble, but the shot sails along fine. Maybe there's something about the game I don't understand, but I'm not making the connection in these circumstances. If it's a mild error, it's frustrating. When it costs me a stroke or two, it's infuriating. 3. I honestly don't understand how the factors affecting a shot's timing work, or the effects they actually have. If I overswing, what does that do? If my shot is slow or fast, what does that do? What causes the ball (in the feedback on the bottom right) to wobble while it's in flight? I think I've found a correlation between the wobble and a resulting hook/slice, but I still don't know what causes it, or how to avoid it. 4. The triple-bogey pickup (where the hole automatically ends after the 3rd shot over par). Seriously, man. What. The. [Edit - Admin.]!? I could see this as a welcomed option in multiplayer with randoms, as a way to thwart griefers who just want to knock the ball around and waste everyone's time, but a forced feature? In single player mode? In *career*!? In *tournaments*!? That has no business whatsoever in single-player play but, if it has to exist, it needs to be an option. If that isn't either patched out or patched into an option, I will stop playing this game. I mean it. If lack of mouse swing isn't a gamekiller for me (it's real close), this triple-bogey bs definitely is. 5. As far as I can tell, there's no alternate turns in multiplayer, not even in private matches. Every one shoots simultaneously. When my friends and I play, we like to watch each other shoot. But at the moment, we can't. This needs to be made an option, or we won't be playing it. Bonus: I have to unlock the ability to putt from the fringe? WTF? There's a great game in here, if EA is willing to put the time in to chisel off the nonsense, and polish the potential. But as it stands, I can't give it higher than a 5/10. It sucks, in spite of its strong positives. Ya know, I don't get EA. They literally made the best golf game of all time 10 years ago. All they have to do is update it. Modernize it. But, for whatever reason, they are now incapable of producing real quality, it seems, even after they already have. I'll be watching to see what EA patches and acknowledges in the days and weeks to come. I still have Play Pro for like another 5 months. That's exactly how long I'll give it. EA has been a major disappointment to me this past year, and PGA was my final consideration. If it still sucks in September, I won't be renewing Play Pro.2.9KViews14likes57CommentsWelcome to the EA SPORTS PGA TOUR Boards on Answers HQ!

Quest update...
Just for all those that think I only post negative comments here. Thank you EA for adding a status check for the quests. I had asked for this a while back, and I'm sure it wasn't done for me, but well done. We can now see what we have left in order to complete a quest parameter. ie. We need to "GET 51 GIRs - 33/51" I now know I am 18 short of completing the goal. Bravo!212Views13likes3CommentsGreen Grid is Incredibly Inaccurate

Greetings. I worked for a long time as a QA analyst, and did pretty much Digital Foundry level of analyzing on EA PGA Tour and wanted to give some feedback to EA if possible. First, I would like to acknowledge that the game looks gorgeous no matter te platform. However, believe that some crucial improvement to performance needs to be made to have smoother gameplay. I tested the game on PS5, XSX and PC (Ryzen 5 5600, RTX3070 32GBRAM), and found that the frametime is really bad on all 3 of them, even when 30FPS or 60 FPS is maintained and when system resources are not really used, meaning no evident hardware bottleneck. However, this is generally not a major issue. The most pressing issue I think is the stuttering induced EVERY time the ball lands after the first drive, and every time during the first put on the green. This issue appears even when setting the game at 720P at lowest settings, meaning it's either CPU limited during that time or there is a function not being called fast enough (or something else in the game code causing this). This issue is clearly visible on all 3 platforms I testes, but is more visible at 60FPS on consoles and even more on PC. I also think shader compiling on PC would be a big improvement to the overall smoothness of the game. Please don't hesitate to reach out or let me know if you need aditionnal information. From what I could gather on all different forums, this issue is apparent across the board on all PC, but some people are less prone to noticing the stutter / hitching induced. This issue should be fairly easy to tackle and reproduce by the EA studio QA, as it is really obvious. Thank you EDIT: Found some info to make it easier to reproduce for QA: When the ball lands on the green and you put instantly after (before the put read is done reading), there is NO stutter! If you wait until the put reading is done, then there is stutter EVERY time! This should make it easier to identify the issue! EDIT 2: Not so sure about the previous finding concerning the put read. It still seems to happen 90% of the time regardless, but mostly on full play (not challenges). Augusta is a good example of it, it stutters about 98% of the puts there. I again tried at the lowest settings, 720P with internal resolution set to 80%, and no difference. It really is coming from the game code, and after trying a bunch of different Frosbite 3 commands as well, I think it is unfixable without an update from EA.470Views12likes3Comments
