Merged into the master thread. This is a corrupted installation causing the issue. See the solution on page 1. You may have to manually uninstall Origin and the game to fix it https://bluebellflora.com/how-to-uninstall-origin-on-a-mac/

I've tried your suggestion to uninstall and reset my Origin along with the game, but now I can't open the game. A message appear saying "The Sims 4 quit unexpectedly." What should I do now?

Hmm, that's a different issue and one which some people are experiencing after the 18 April patch. Could you please submit an Origin Error Report and post the report number in this thread https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/my-game-won-t-open/m-p/12509333#M56054 that link also shows you a screenshot of where you go in Origin to generate the report.
