Re: I made dropbox

@xxxxcassie  Does your computer run Windows or macOS?  Did you actually download anything from Dropbox, and if so, have you deleted it?

I don't know. I updated it and it asked if ia wanted to allow dropbox files, I pressed don't allow and now to says error sims4 already running. I reinstalled the game and it still won't work.

I’m afraid I don’t understand at all what you’re trying to do but if you have blocked the Sims 4 game access to the Documents folder it will not load. You also cannot store your Documents folder in Dropbox because the game will only look locally in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 for user data to load. Any deviation from that file path will result in none of your user data loading.

System Preferences/Settings > Privacy & Security > Files & Folders then allow The Sims 4 access to the Documents folder.

@xxxxcassie  Note that if you’re backing up your computer with Dropbox (I am) this can appear to do odd things to the file structure but as long as you don’t block access to files, it should still work. Two quirks I’ve worked out:

    1. Make sure to pause syncing before opening your Sims game or the lag will be unbearable as Dropbox constantly tries to backup temp files.
    2. Make sure to unpause / allow sync before downloading updates and new packs, or adding/moving mods, because otherwise you’ll hit all kinds of weird issues.
