What is with the discrepancy between Gibi Ult and Bangs?

Gibis ult is absolutely brutal if you're hit by it. It took out blue shields and did an additional 40 damage or so. His ult also hits quicker and it's harder to avoid.

Bangs ult at best will do 70 damage but 99% of the time it only does 32 damage or something along those lines and you're lucky if even that hits. It's insanely easy to avoid due to the long warning you get that its coming AND the fact that the bombardment pattern is predictable and only hits one area once.. When it hits in front of you just run forward. Yet both are a similar concept.

Toss in that the heavy smoke after bangs ult ends up giving the enemy squad a slight advantage.. You have to try and track them down again.. I was a bang main but I've quit using her ult almost entirely.

  • They are supposed to serve different purposes.  Gibby's ult is intended to cause concentrated damage to shut down an area.  Bang' s ult is meant to disorient and break up a squad during a push,  or cover a retreat.

Gibby ult = pain and destruction

Bang ult = confusion and chaos

Perfectly described... people see a missle and pick a direction to run... usually in different directions lol

Fun fact, Bangalore's name comes from explosives charges used to advance frontlines in trench warfare by creating large smokescreens allowing for troops and supplies to move for a brief period of time and reposition with relative safety.

The ultimate is an adage to this piece of wartime history.

...a Bangalore torpedo was used to clear objects like barb wire or mine fields allowing troops to advance and they could do this quickly while not being exposed to direct fire... Its basically a giant pipe bomb and allows for quick clearing of obstacles...theres no smoke just a tube filled with explosives to clear a path! Downside to this is it lets the enemy know where you plan to come through, so they would blow multiple up at places sometimes as a diversion to where the actual attack were to happen!
