    @BigMacAttack8uI don't know, we'll see. Felt very much the same to me, TBH.

    As I was saying before S16, none of this matters if they don't fix matchmaking and deal with cheaters better.

    Ahh I see the unbalance now....Premades.

    A single premade is more impact in team deathmatch than having few premades in BR.

    @PeterN_UKWhat if it allowed premades of up to 6? More people would squad up since people usually have more than 2 friends, and then we can have more accurate pairings.

    @BigMacAttack8u More than a 3-man squad is what I was REALLY hoping for, Lol. Mainly because I rarely have team mates, because my buddies play CoD solely because they can party up with more than 3. There are 4+ of us every day, so they all just play CoD. I can't stand those games anymore, so I am left alone on Apex. I was kinda hoping TDM would allow for more than 3 in a squad, but figured that wouldn't be the case. I'd pretty much have a constant pre-made, if I could have more than 2 friends with me

    Regardless, I'm looking forward to getting into this mode when I get home

    I completely agree & I just cannot believe both devs or playtesters (pro players,devs whoever etc) have tested this mode & have come to the conclusion that this is in anyway better than Arenas.This TDM mode is effectively just like Control Mode without the stupid point-scoring system where enemies (& teammates)are content on camping throughout the entirity & those that can endlessly spam the tracking button.I played about 5 matches earlier this evening & both teammates & enemies were just quitting en masse long before the matches had finished & the reason why? it's a mode that drags out for way too long.At least Arenas had the element of tactics & limited supplies both health/shields,ability usage & ammo without the endless respawning of shield supplies merely seconds after cracking an enemies shield & where the circle closes in on you drawing negating the camping element.Even Gun Run monsters this mode on every level.I just cynically assume that Arenas was dropped to free up server capacity for this mode & Respawn/EA don't much like the idea offering players much shorter modes (like Arenas) & are in favour of these overly long dragged out modes (that people will just quit halfway through anyway) in the expectation that players may just play Apex for that bit longer.Not for me unfortunately.

  • In one game it ended up 5 v 1 but fair play to the 1 they stuck around so it was fun playing hunt the enemy. It was taking ages though ... i quit on 19 team kills, second round.

    Its much worse than arenas. They should have kept arenas but made it delayed auto respawns. 10s delay, 20s delay and so on. Winners first team to get all three enemies in delay respawn, or to destroy the enemy base or something.

    Apex has a real problem with quitters in all modes. They should add an abandonment penalty in all modes except for casual BR.

    I like it. Got me thinking of how you might blend TDM and Arenas together and make a legit, more fair mode.

    For a 3v3 TDM game, keep the same "Best of 3, must win by 2, OT after Match 5" sort of system as Arenas. Respawns with "First to 15 Kills" to win a round (since 6v6 is 30, cut 3v3 to 15). If a squad is wiped with all 3 awaiting respawn, the squad with players still alive is transported back to their spawn to reset and minimize spawn camping.

    Add a shield bonus of 1 bar more for each player down when people leave early. 2v3 you get Purple shields against the full squad's Blue, for example. Another option when down players is to have your shields start recharging a few seconds earlier.

    The TDM they released is definitely half baked but I think they could do some things to save it.

    Hold on, was it Ash the one who stayed? Whole my squad was running circles in Skulltown to find her.

    By the way, the abandonmen penalty should be 30 minutes, because with only 10, they quit anyway. What else can you do?

  • Nope this was on H4 and it was a BH who then cycled through the legends

    You whine about the quitters but this is entirely ea and respawn creating the issue.

    There's no need for a quit penalty if they could actually backfill. As usual, spending money to implement key features is off the cards, so reuse existing quit penalty system instead.

    @meece Not whining and agree that EA/Respawn created the issue by not thinking this mode through and properly play testing it.

    I disagree with using a time out penalty like the Ranked one for this mode. It is intended to be a low key, 'feel free to make mistakes' mode per their previous comms and not a competitive mode like Ranked. I think there are ways they can address it without the Ranked penalty for quitting.

    I finally got to play last night & my 1st TDM was inline with what everyone else has been saying. Opening minutes & we were getting rolled.

    2nd match was closer & more fun plus we won lol.
