Re: Should I turn on Windows 10 game mode for the sims 4?
@konthekindbear Game Mode might make a game run slower on a low-end laptop, but the size of the effect probably depends at least in part on what makes a particular laptop low-end. Any process running in the background takes resources away from the game, and that can certainly cause any game, or really any demanding process, to run more slowly than it otherwise would.
However, if the particular resources that process is using aren't running low, then the effect might be negligible. For example, if the laptop has a low-end graphics card but plenty of memory and a decent enough processor, and a process is using a bit of memory and only a little CPU power, then the effect might not be noticeable.
On the other hand, if you're not using Game Mode, there's no point in having it running, and of course there's no harm in disabling it.
