No, the game is rated Teen for a reason. You should probably worry more about other aspects of the game such as dying. If you want to let her play you should probably monitor her.

It would be cool to have a sims game for kids, my daughter would love it! She is only allowed to build and fashion out as well because of the other game play. Besides, sometimes the flirty and romantic aspects get in the way of gameplay; would be nice to be able to choose whether you are interested or not in romance.
I know EA tried a MySims spin off (back in the Wii era) but it isn't what I am looking for now. Glad to hear that I am not the only one who is trying to hold the door closed on the romantic aspects of The Sims.
Regarding the Grim Reaper, my daughter has lost her grandfather and a pet or two...she has had to come to grips with death and to put it in context already.
