Re: Family Oriented Trait trouble

@TygerNight How did she get pregnant if you already had a full house? Oh, man, I am family oriented and I would have a sad moodlet most of the time if I was caring for 4 sets of toddler/baby twins! :eahigh_file:

In console can you get debug items to add to the lot and activate? If not hunt some down... You can add career reward items and other moodlet items to another lot, move dad out temporary and have him buy the lot and add the items to his personal inventory then sell the lot and move back in with his wife. Gems and other items that are possible to add to personal inventory would work for this. Then he can add them all around the lot and activate the moodlets to set off moodlets continually and override the sad one. If you were on PC/Mac you could cheat to add the parent relationship with all of the children, and that may help, but you are on console, so cheats are not an option, correct?

You can also do this trick (adding moodlet items) in a room and upload that room to your library then download the room to your lot and get the items from the room.

Do you know you can drag dirty dishes to the trash yourself in live mode?

Also... as a heads up:
I've had issues occasionally with toddlers leaving the dishes in random places also (and high shelves), but also inside walls, and in mid-air. Yup, how fun is that? I found the inside-the-walls ones either by noticing the plate edge on the wall, the green fumes, or by having the walls down and seeing it hanging in mid-air. So, you could check for some of these possibilities. 🤔

@TygerNight, you were given some great options to counte act the sadness moodlet  that Family Oriented Sims get by @SheriGR , as well as what I said in my first post.  However, I think you are more upset about the fact that this moodlet even exists!
My theory on why it exists is that it makes it more realistic and helps balance out all the positive moodlets that your Sims would get if there were no drawbacks.  Most, if not all personalities have drawbacks.  Sims with the Athletic trait get upset if they can't exercise, Kleptomaniacs get tense if they haven't' stolen something in a while, but sometimes feel guilty when they do steal something, etc.

But I have another theory with the Family Oriented trait... it isn't just loneliness for a family member because that would be satisfied by any family member being present.  My guess is that Sims with this trait want all of the family close by them!   🤨  So it wouldn't matter if one or two children of your Sim was present... they might all have to be present to satisfy this moodlet! ❤️

So, try to see if having all of the household in the same room helps at all... Check to see if the moodlet had arrows pointing downward to indicate that the time on this moodlet is becoming lesser at a much faster rate.  Also, I haven't tested this yet, but the moodlet might go away instantly.  It's worth a try!  And if it doesn't' work, try the fixing your sad moodlet  or overriding it with positive moodlets with the suggestions that @SheriGR and I gave you! 😇

  • @PugLove888Sorry to bump this old thread but Maui - my Sim I mentioned in other threads - has the Family-Oriented trait and he just came back from work with the Missing Family moodlet. I had him talk to my Sim and it went away (being replaced by the Family Time moodlet)! 😃 Not sure if it was because I had him do the "Complain about Problems" interaction first but it went away after he did that. ☺️

If you've already found this out then I'll just leave this here for any other user who has trouble with this trait. 😉

@AprilTheSimmer96 , thanks for the info! 😇 I haven't tested yet, as I have a lot of things I want to test and I get sidetracked! 😅  So your suggestions are worth noting! 🙌
