Re: Poor quality food in restaurant

@IrisuChan

I feel your pain. I took my Sims to a restaurant I hadn't made or owned twice and they got food poisoning both times. So I started making my own restaurants.  🙌

If you're having this issue you could go into edit on the restaurant and change the menu so that everything is at level one for the experience need for the cooks. Maybe you could continue to frequent the restaurant and make sure the food is maintaining a  good quality then eventually take it up to level two items?

Experimenting with this may help to tell if the issue is that the cooks in the restaurant are just inexperienced, and if they are I would assume your changing the food to level one food would help them to gain experience. Sims don't seem to care that much about what food they're served - they seem more interested in whether it was prepared well. At least that's been my experience of it on both the customer and restaurant manager end of it with my Sims.

Have fun! 🙂

    Hi @SheriGR  sorry for my late response! I bought one restaurant and hired staff (sadly, I couldn't hire my friend sim who is a chef???) and I trained them. At first I let the chef work slowly to get good quality food, now he can work faster and still serve normal or excellent food. Then I also added higher level food to the menu. 🙂 So my influence on the restaurant definitely helped! one thing is strange though, when my sim is not active at the restaurant as owner and the restaurant is closed, it's still open for other sims. If I take my other sims to the restaurant when the owner is not there, business goes on as usual but some of the regular staff members aren't there, and unknown people are there as "staff" so that's odd. But for the food quality issue, this is solved now 🙂 🙂

    @IrisuChan I'm so glad to hear that your issue is solved! 🙌 Thank you for letting us know!

    Yes, I've experimented some with both restaurants and retail stores that are owned by one of my Sims and what happens when they don't have the business open yet you visit with other (non-owner) households/Sims. It's interesting, as obviously the game is running it at that point, so my owner Sims aren't getting the profits.

    I've not noticed any differences that it made (in worker skill, damage or broken/worn items, trash left, etc.) so I'm assuming it's a non-permanent run of the lot. It's handy to be able to use the restaurant even if your Sim doesn't have it open, though.

    @SheriGR Hi! Sorry for my late response. Actually I made a separate post about the "different staff suddenly in restaurant" issue. When the owner of the restaurant visited the lot today and I switch to another family today and let them visit the restaurant today, all staff will be the people I hired and trained. However, the longer the owner hasn't shown up at the restaurant (the longer I haven't played the owner on that lot), the more chance that when you take a sim family to the restaurant different staff is gonna be there. Different staff also means, as you said, less good food, trash laying around and so on. When I go back to the owner at her own house, she does seem to get profits from the restaurant which apparently is running without her there. So how the staff can switch in between is a mystery to me :D
