Hey! I had the EXACT same issue and here is how i fixed it!
Type testingcheats on
Then, shift click and go to cheat sim info. Click to ADD a lifestyle and add the one that has been afflicting your sim back. Afterwards, repeat the process but this time go to REMOVE lifestyle. Use cheats to remove the lifestyle you just added.
It fixed mine! Hope it works for you too! 🙂

This worked for me! Had already sent to lifestyle coaching twice to get rid of "close-knit" because the dude couldn't get mentored at the gym without having an anxiety attack. Thank you!
Work around didn't work for me. I tried several different paths, adding the lifestyles back then removing, they remained and were active. Add them then go to lifestyle coaching...still stuck. Add them and use the command line to remove them...still stuck. They are in the GUI and show as active no matter what I do. I wanted to visit the ski mountain, it's done, but both of them are frequent traveler adrenaline seekers and bored 100% of the time when not doing it. Super super annoying, basically unplayable.
