@Midnight9746The lock out is absolutely necessary it cant go away. The reason you are locked out in the spawning zone is because the other team is way more skilled at killing your teammates when that happens it is not because the mechanic of zones is broken it is because the other team owns you simply so you dont want that game to last 20 minutes anyway players are already leaving in the losing team because it is not fun being shamed in the spawning zone. Enemy team cannot spawn at the base closest to you which is a way to facilitate you taking it back by sending them far to respawn if you cant do that then too bad it is better the game ends early. This happens no more than 1 out of 10 games for me.

Respawn did a great job on this mode only one thing is broken: the possibility to go into the respawning zone and kill respawns at the very second they spawn.

    @Palette24carats This is a mode where it's supposed to be fun for BOTH sides, and it just kills the gamemode when one team is allowed to dominate the other team like that.

    You obviously seem to support things such as spawn killing. The lockout has absolutely no reason to exist. At some point it stops being a game, and becomes more of a massacre.

    I have more fun fighting for control over zones, then I do when the matchmaking obviously scrambles teams a bit unevenly in skills, and your team either dominates or you're the one getting destroyed. If I wanted to be completely helpless in a game, I would just stand still and not move, in fact I wouldn't even play games.

    Its honestly players like you that ruin the experience for other players.

    @Midnight9746Wrong I dont ruin the game for anybody and I dont support spawn killing. If we're in a lock out I still have fun playing and up my game so I can manage to do a few kill and sometimes we cancel the lockout and even win the game because it forces us to play more together as a team.


    Seems like anything can ruin the game for you you must be a very bad loser that keeps complaining which make you not fun to play with.

    @Palette24caratsAren't you on console, and get upset whenever someone wants aim assist to get removed for you?

    The only things "ruining" the game for me, are smurphs, cheaters, server issues, audio, and crashing issues.

    1) Smurphing is not being handled and it messes with matchmaking
    2) Cheaters are rampant
    3) We all know the servers are not the best
    4) Audio doesn't like exisiting when its most needed
    5) Several people are having issues on Olympus, which is the map currently crashing me a lot, and its mainly near the Phase Runner.

    Considering how toxic you're getting, and more defensive you're becoming, only proves my point about players like you ruining the game.

    We're at the threashhold, where the thread should just be locked or something. There's no point in trying to communicate anything about control, when there's one person who thinks the problems with it aren't a problem but a feature. I feel like I'm talking to Bethesda.

    @EA_Mako I feel like we've ventured too far off course.

  • @Midnight9746The lockout is pretty annoying, I understand the one for the enemy team’s base but for the middle one is pretty frustrating especially when they are just camping on top of B shredding or sniping you before you get anywhere near the place... its near impossible to get to B on characters like Wattson unless your teammates placed Jump pads strategically

    I also want a safe zone because that masters wraith and diamond mirage kept spawn killing me the other day... I love control but its little things like this that ruin the mode I wish they would put an out of bounds timer on the top of B in Barometer because its fine to fight or defend the bottom and inside at the top of B but having people camp and snipe around the edges the whole game just ruins it when you take 1 step out of A or C and cannot safely get anywhere... for the players who don’t understand it just means you are fortunate enough to not be skilled enough to be thrown into these sweat fest lobbies yet full of nothing but smurfs, pros, and occasionally cheaters but idk I’m not any of the above XD unless you count aim assist

    @TheApexLegendNub Most of the control games I've played, I had 1-5 people cheating, and 1-3 smurphs that I've noticed. Some of the cheaters were smurphs themselves. It was stated that these are "new players", but that doesn't explain the no recoil hipfire, where you can be off to the side, and the bullets magically hit you without the need for aim.
  • @Midnight9746I’m just getting tired of being bocek bow spammed this point, you just hear it and its near impossible to tell which direction its coming from... then I keep getting 4k 20 bomb players with thousands of kills in my matches completely ruining it... The best I have ever done is 2300 damage in BR so I should be matched against players who have done like 3k badges or less imo not 4k+ damage players

    the problem isn’t necessarily the bocek bow, charge rifle, triple take, etc... the problem is how far apart A, B, and C are.... once the enemy takes over B all they have to do is start defending from a distance with a marksman or sniper and you are unable to get anywhere near B... its even difficult with a trident sometimes, this mode promotes spawn camping more than anything else... they need to add more ways to get to B or make the spawn points closer together or something the map is just too large and it’s difficult to travel on non movement based legends while being bocek bow spammed, charge rifle beamed, etc when you haven’t even left A or C yet... its even worse the closer you get to B and once you die you have to start all over and then they wonder why everyone leaves early... I’ve left 2 games in a row because I was bocek bow spawn killed nonstop I’m glad it’s finally out of weapon rotation and the game is playable again... (playable except for the fact that the enemy team had 4 players camping our spawn area because it was a 5 v 9... and they had A, B, and C captured)

    when I imagined this mode in my head I thought we would be skydiving into the map like we do on Shadowfall or Team Rumble on Fortnite, I’m not a fan of the current spawn system because its too easy to spawn camp so I think they need to take your other suggestion and to make B the only point and then add a safe zone around A and C and only remove the safe zone during bonus rounds... then again idk because it wouldn’t stop them from being on top of B at barometer and stopping you with marksman/snipers unless they added an out of bounds timer up there...

    I dunno... you tell me....

    I recommend looking at the image below in a new tab or zoom in. These are clearly new accounts and they made up majority of the enemy team that dominated us. Would show that match in video form, but its difficult without "naming and shaming".

    Scoreboard's image was taken when I saw the first 2 smurphs, so its not the final or near final score, but the smurphs were racking up 8-14 kills.

    @Midnight9746 I just had a 4 minute 20 second Control match, and then one that would have easily been under 2 minutes, but the enemy team decided that they would just farm kills instead of instantaneously win the match. They had all 3 points and were spawn camping us by the time our first point got around 2%.

    @StelioRokos This smurph team farmed kills while camping B. They got the capture bonuses, and didn't need to spawn kill us. Don't know why they let us survive 13 minutes though.

    lmao it's fine where it's at now. No need to turn a bad matchmaking game into some ridiculous insta-spawn killing mode

    @CrazieAtesPS4Think they meant that you can spawn camp the enemy team. Which is very annoying.

    I'm also going to add that point A and B are far too close to the main spawn point where you spawn initially. and also that when the game first starts, you sometimes spawn too far from your side's control point. It's mainly on Olympus, where this occurs. Can't easily do the capture challenge, when you're spawned off into Narnia, nor can you get ratings as easily to level up your guns.

    @Midnight9746 Ok, maybe i misinterpreted that since i have never been killed instantly off spawn.

    It's not that bad IMO...both maps have spawn points that allow you to get to a vehicle rather easily. If the Opponent is camping your home zone, then grab a ride and go put pressure on their home zone.

    Honestly if it is that bad where none of your teammates can get out of their zone, and people can't put pressure on any other zone to force them off your home zone, then the game has failed in terms of matchmaking, so just quit and start a new game.

    I agree on the Olympus spawn point here and there. Furthest one i've experienced put me about 30-35 seconds out from the home zone for non movement characters.

    Wish they would just start everyone off in their home zone so things start more evenly. Many games seem to have one side starting to capturing their home zone way earlier than the other side.

    @CrazieAtesPS4 I had someone stand 2-3 feet away from one of our spawn points, and the moment I spawned, I was instantly gunned down. You can't "grab a vehicle", when they do that. I also rather not just leave every match that inconveniences me, because then I'd just not be playing as much.

    2-3 feet away? I find that hard to believe TBH...but if that did happen it was a one time thing and not some kind of game breaking issue.

    Before you spawn you can change character and loadout...I'd suggest utilizing this nice feature to help you get out of the spawn points better if a team is camping.

    And the broken matchmaking is not an inconvenience, it is what it is and will always be that way. I'll quit if the team I'm on is putting a pounding on the other team at times as well. If the score is like 60% to 20% it's over! It's boring to just sit there and kill kids that instantly run right into you without any resistance lol

  • The one positive thing I can say about the Control Mode is that besides all of the little issues it has been my go to game mode since it was released, usually I’m spending more time playing Rogue Company than I am on Apex but that just hasn’t been the case (I’m not talking about a little playtime difference either...) usually I just do apex dailies and spend the rest of my time on Rogue Company but the complete opposite has been happening where Im now spending all of my gaming time on Apex again and only doing my dailies on Rogue Company despite them having a new battlepass and stuff to grind too

    if the Control Mode is removed... I have no doubt in my mind that I will be going back to Rogue Company as my main game just because of the infinite respawn factor, playing Battle Royale just isn’t an enjoyable experience anymore you just land, die, instantly leave, on repeat... until you actually do survive... it gets old but the Control Mode has the potential if they just filled in for missing players, rotated B so one team can’t have it the entire match, more freedom in gun loadout choices, etc I think the leaver penalty was just a lazy approach at fixing the mode which is why Arenas died... Arenas suffers from the exact same issues of players getting disconnected, going afk, never making it into the match, leaving early, etc so it needs players to be filled in too

    @CrazieAtesPS4Well, they were standing next to the spawn point, and their teammates were at the others. They all had their guns pointed at where we would be spawning, and were close enough to be in our faces. I think some of them watched where we were spawning, and then walked up to that area.
