Dude if only my aim assist acted like that at close range. It does NOT.

Of course the pro who plays well on both is going to think it's op and even "demonstrate" so.
What I saw here was click bait. He talked only in the beginning about aim assist and how it works at close range. The rest was just him owning at both close range and distance like I'm sure he does on mnk.
He didn't talk about the down sides of aim assist I've noticed. Like how I constantly have to fight with my controller to follow a player instead of the aim assist fixating on where the player USED to be.
Or all the times my aim assist, "assisted" me to an already downed player because he simply crawled too close to the target I was actually shooting at.
Anything you put in a pros hands is going to look good when they work at it long enough. So this doesn't seem valid to me.

@XxColdFangxXif you would look at when the video was posted you would see i posted my point way before he released his vid. some people take a word of a pro more seriously than my approach. thats why i posted it. and to repeat myself, not everyones playstyle does profit off the assist. you might actually change certain ways you approach a fight to actually get the advantage, but its there ...

No I did not look at the date, but that's besides the point.
The way everyone talks about aim assist it's like they're being beamed from across the map with it.
The facts remain, that an experienced player is going to do better with or even without the aim assist.
Take that video from someone who plays casually and try telling me there isn't a difference. That the aim assist was op and did everything for them.

Aim assist might guide you to a target, but it does not track them when they start moving. That's on the player to do and often in my case it drags behind.

I've played on controller for pretty much my whole life. I comparison to other aim assisted games I've played, it's been trash.

The answer is in your very sentence. TOP players. Of course it's working out for them. They're the best of the best switching devices isn't going to hinder them for very long, if at all.
Stop comparing every controller player you come across to a top player.

You keep talking about how the pros play, but how about you? What's your experience with a controller?

I'd much rather hear an explanation based off your own personal experience as to why aim assist on controller is so op instead of what the pros are saying.

Because the fact is, I'm not the best player in apex, which is probably why aim assist doesn't work out well for me, but I have yet to see a controller player admit to aim assist being too op, and they can't all be as bad as me. 

So if you're not a pro on controller and still thinks aim assist is too op, please share why that is, cause maybe then I'll actually understand why pc players complain about it so much.

@r1ggedgame that’s your problem, you’re going off of what pros say. But here’s the thing man, none of us are pros. Let me explain; if you have 2 extremely skilled players who have all the mechanics of apex down, and they 1v1, one using controller and one using MnK, I can see how the controller user might have the upper hand due to AA. But the thing is, most people crying over AA, ARE NOT PRO PLAYERS. You have Joe Bob over here who cant control recoil and has terrible situational awareness, getting beamed by competent players and then gets mad and blames it on AA. That’s the case for 90% of people crying over AA. They see hal switching and think “oh if hal switches that MUST mean AA is op, no wonder I’m losing my fights” but if they took the time to get better, They’d notice they’re win rate will go up and the whole Aim assist thing really isn’t as big of a problem as they’re making it out to be.

@reerex @XxColdFangxX The fact that mostly pros profit off it, doesnt mean that the advantage isnt there for anyone else.
Maybe you guys do something wrong on the sticks, i cant tell. But the data is speaking a clear language.

You can argue as much as you want, but you making a fool out of yourself saying its not there.
You guys always trying to divert the discussion, but my statement is : AA is overpowered in close combat situations, im not talking aimbot im not talking movement im not talking any other stuff you guys always try to carry into the discussion. Stop using the strawman. And in the end, you will see its getting buffed

Dude I've been playing on controller most of my life.
I know how aim assist feels in different games and how it feels in Apex.
Again, talking about the pros. Weren't you the one calling people broken records for using the same points?

I'm not saying aim assist is not there. I'm saying it doesn't work as well as everyone keeps making it out to be, if it did, I and a majority of people like me, wouldn't have the issues we have and we'd be a lot better than we really are. 

There's controller players with more experience than I have that make the same arguments, or is their personal experience and my personal experience not valid to you because we don't stream and aren't the top players?

If you can't give any sort of explanation other than what other people are saying and doing, then you really have no sort of argument.
The fact that other controller players say pretty much the exact same thing says it all and you STILL stand by what someone else is saying and doing.

@XxColdFangxXi gave an explample with the visual clutter, in the 30K matches i did, i experienced a lot of WTF moments in exactly those situations. Spectating the players afterwards just made me scratch my head numerous times, bcs the aim was simply not there, but somehow they managed to hit me perfectly in those close combat situations. Recoil doesnt really matter at that distance, so a Strike Pack cant be responsible for this.
Youll see, they will buff it ... its just a matter of time as with everything Respawn, just look at the MM situation ... i called it over a year ago, ppl played it down, then it started to affect them too and now Respawn finally wants to change it. 

@r1ggedgameYou’re not getting it. I’m not saying the advantage of AA doesn’t exist, I’m saying the AA “problem” isn’t as big a deal as ppl make it out to be. There are so many factors to consider in a gunfight, I can guarantee you AA is the last thing killing the controller cry babies. Just because the advantage is there doesn’t mean every controller player capitalizes on it. Even in your case. You’re so fixated on AA being “op” that you quickly jump to that conclusion instead of re-evaluating yourself and what you did wrong as a player. Even in close combat, there’s still a lot of factors other than “who can aim better” but whatever. You’re clearly stuck on what pro players have to say, even though you will never attain that level of skill. Keep blaming AA, and stay stuck at the level you’re at. Have a good one friend

@reerexit will be buffed for excatly the reasons i told. just wait and see.
Respawn has a way of handling things when they think something is not balanced they way they want it to.
Happens with Chars getting buffed and nerved only to make them more attractive to get the usage numbers to where they want it to be.
When more Players turn from MnK to Controller they def. will act. 

What you both dont want to realize or just overread all the time, i said not everyone will/can make use of it due to their style of play, but that doesnt mean its not overpowered in certain situations. People will learn to use it like the Pro Players do and this will be the point where it gets buffed.
And btw, who else but a pro player can actually make an educated statement about this ? They are literally the experts and up there they compete on eye-level, which makes it easier to spot an advantage, especially the ones that compete with both input types ...

@XxColdFangxXthe advantage is there for everyone on controller. the system doenst differ between a noob or a pro using it, which itself might be a solution to make it level. enhance it for underperformig players and shut it off/tune it down if you reached a certain KDR threshold

That could be a solution, but wouldn't it also be a relearn process once it gets shut off?
Also to answer your earlier question about pros- everything a pro does is going to look good and look op, and while yes, they do have way more experience on the matter, and can very much spot these kinds of things easier than anyone else, they are not the majority of the player base.

A pro can quite easily pick up the worst gun in the game, use it like a god, and declare it op, when it is in fact, still the worst gun.

And just like I said after I watched that video, the aim assist does not work as well as that for the average player, and that it was basically just click bait, because he did very little to actually voice the reasoning behind his opinion and instead opted for showing something he was perfectly capable of doing without the aim assist. 

And like I also said, if you really want to make the point on something like aim assist being op, you give that controller to a casual player. Then you have that player face off against a pro at close range..chances are, the causal still looses more consistently than they win. 

At that kind of pro level on something that's meant to help the underperformed players, not the pros, it's very much hard to take them seriously because it doesn't matter what the pro plays on, what guns he plays with, everything he does is going to be way much better than the average player, but we're just supposed to blindly take his word for it, despite our very own experience playing on controllers and the issues we all come across with the aim assist?

And when you get a pro saying there is an issue with something the average player base doesn't see a problem with, you get these kinds of conversations, right here.
Also, the problem with using a pro as an example, is that it is not your own experience. When your example is a video of someone else's opinion, it just looks like "Well so and so says snickers taste bad, so I'm not going to eat it."
Your experience would be the 30k wtf moments, but even then, you told of watching the game play. Not playing on a controller yourself-I want to know your actual gaming experience playing on a controller, because then you can accurately say for yourself, "yeah aim assist really helped in that close range fight." Or "no, I didn't really notice anything different from how I usually play."
I've noticed that when I die, and I'm left spectating my teammates, it is so laggy in comparison to when actually playing the game. My teammates say they aren't lagging, but it's there while I'm spectating.
There's so many factors to consider when trying to determine cause of death in these games. Lag, ping, smurfs, cheating, aim assist, aimbot, strike pack, xims, even your own hitbox, or just not good enough and it's very easy to place the blame on something other than yourself because no one wants to believe it was their own fault and ruling out strike packs because it's too close for the recoil doesn't seem viable to me. If you're right up someone's * of course recoil isn't really going to matter as much as it would at a distance, but that doesn't mean a strike pack couldn't still be being used.
I might not be a pro apex player, but I've played all sorts of fps to know good aim assist when I see it. (At least I hope I do) and I'm not a stranger to brs. I've played fortnite. I've tried warzone. Darwin project, spellbreak, apex, pubg, halo gow, COD, titanfall, titanfall 2, so I know very well the basics of a br and how to point and shoot in first and third, each game having its own variation of aim assist and I can honestly say that to me, Apex has been one of the worst.

In my very honest opinion, for something to be OP, it needs to be beneficial to every average player, not the pros who can basically do anything, (or pc players in this case) but every average controller player, in a way that it positively outweighs the negative by a decent amount. 

@XxColdFangxX Tell me how that experience works for you in a week or two because for me it was frustrating. I personally adjusted my settings ages ago and turned off Target Compensation (which I assumed to be aim assist.) There was virtually no change in mid-range or long-range difficulty but close range fighting felt pretty messy which was fine since I wanted to test ranged fighting without it.

Then something weird happened. My sensitivity settings felt like they dropped back to where they were previously and my aim started actually sticking to players in a way it's never done before. It was like the game reset my settings but when I checked everything was fine. I can never feel comfortable with the settings now and won't touch them again.

@XxColdFangxX with AA off you will probably have to mess with ALC settings and find the right sens.

I tried once but my shots went all over the place. So basically, it was the same experience as 0.6. But I did not mess with the settings too much then. I think I will give it another go.

I wish we could try values other than 0.4 and 0.6.

0.4 was clearly the superior choice for me. But I wonder what 0.5 feels like. Or anything below 0.6.

I miss halo swat. The new halo infinite doesn't have it so I don't waste my time with it.
