The latest update that allows us to cook cupcakes in the oven does not include the baking skill from GTW. The large cupcake machine is still needed if you want to make those recipes.

Not sure if this is a bug or intended, but can confirm the items in the bake menu on the cupcake machine (muffins and donuts) aren't available in either cook or bake in the kitchen.
I too can confirm that the pastry options from the cupcake machine are not available on a regular oven, however, the patch notes said that cupcakes would be available to made on the oven, so similar to @PipMenace 's comment, I wasn't sure if this was by design or just an oversight. And as @CCuteCCabaret commented, making pastries requires the baking skill from Get to Work vs the base game cooking skill (homestyle cooking skill).
I play on PC, game version 1.101.290.1030, have all the currently released packs except the Modern Menswear kit and I removed my mods folder before I updated (I also deleted localthumbcache file and repaired my game after I updated).

- @CCuteCCabaret Yes! This is incredibly disappointing. I luve some of the recipes and it not being under baking is crazy! Like the crème brûlée. donuts etc it should be added!
Yeah, I was so worried they were going to forget the Get to Work baking recipes and it turns out they did - except they didn't forget to adjust them for new ingredients. I get not wanting to make the cupcake machine completely useless but it's very disappointing that I will still need a mod to not have to use the giant machine that doesn't make any sense to put in most sims houses.
