Earthquakes causing Irrational, Game-Breaking Fear

In the Sims 4 game, there is a reward trait to cause sims to not be afraid of thunder.  In my game, on lots with earthquakes or volcanic lot traits, each time a tremor happens, my sims become terrified, and stay that way for several sim hours, and if anything in the slightest happens around them then the terror is elongated and has lasted so long that they weren't finally better until another earthquake hit, causing it all over again.  They can't sleep and can't do a lot of other things.  On one lot, some of my sims are doing the paranormal stuff that came with the Paranormal game pack, and the spirits and objects, if I don't have enough countering objects, causes them to be scared constantly (those objects don't help with the fear from the tremors, however).  In addition, even without the paranormal stuff to aggravate it, the terror they get from a small tremor is sometimes so extreme that they reoccurringly go into "PANIC!" and in the lot I am currently playing, there are multiple sims, so they just cause each other to be increasingly scared by screaming at each other, so comforting each other and doing other tasks to ease the fear keeps being negated.
In real life, I live in a quake-prone area on a faultline.  In places where tremors happen regularly, people do not get scared when that happens.  Some people might get nervous or some mild fear of whether it could be a big one, but an earthquake happening is no different than a storm happening...most storms don't result in damage (and even less earthquakes do), so people aren't terrified there's gonna be a disaster every time it starts raining; and likewise in places with regular earthquakes, people aren't terrified like it's gonna be a big one every time the world starts rocking.
With this all in mind, it seems a bit ridiculous to me and I wasn't minding it though at first, but now I am realizing it is making the game too difficult in an absurd, unnecessary way.
Is there anything out there that can make sims not afraid of earthquakes, so they can behave as if they know they are in a quake-zone and are used to it and don't start panicking because of a tremor?  In advance, thank you for any tips or advice or information that might help me.  I tried searching online for solutions but couldn't find anything, so thought I guess I need to start the topic haha.  And I know I could just remove the quake lot trait or have my sims relocate, but I really enjoy it otherwise and like to give lots that trait in locations that have quakes irl, and like the challenge of objects potentially breaking due to random earthquakes.  so I might do that if I have no other options, but before I do that I want to make sure there isn't another solution out there.  Thank you and happy simming!  = )
