@Pick-a-boo_doo Sorry if I was unclear. Yes, I am on Mac. 

What I see in the images you just shared looks like what I see when I highlight the platform inside the room, then I go up to the next floor level (using the arrow - see screenshot). When the platform is highlighted/selected and I then go up to the next floor level, I do see the yellow 'build ceiling' rim (if there is no ceiling). Is that what you mean?

If I make this room you made and the ceiling is deleted, if I simply look top down at the room, I will not see the yellow rim to build the ceiling:

However, if I highlight the platform either by clicking it through the hole or by highlighting it (clicking it) then using the arrow to go up a floor level...

...then I get the yellow 'build ceiling' rim and option:


I hope that's a better explanation of how I do it. Sorry for any confusion.

Note... @simsplayer818 So weird... When I just did another test with a 4 foundation levels up room like @Pick-a-boo_doo made (though hers was raised 7 levels), then making platform on the ground and moving it into the center of that room, it did delete the ceiling! Ugg...! I just added this and some other weird stuff on the bug report. I'm crying uncle at this point.

Apparently, my bad explanation was confused you. I'm so sorry.
Yes so. The ceiling command will not appear if you simply use the "Go Up to Next Floor" button to go up a floor. After going up the floor, click on the Platform part and it will appear. So it's exactly the same as you.
I think that the method of displaying the ceiling command is the same operation method on all game platforms. But @simsplayer818 says it doesn't work on console. That's the bug.
And you mentioned that sometimes the command doesn't appear, right?
I wanted to know in what cases the ceiling command is not displayed.
Disappearing the ceiling and not displaying the ceiling command must be considered separately. Because they each have their own reasons.
So about the disappearance of the ceiling that confused you.
"If you place the Platform directly in the room, the ceiling will not disappear, and if you place the Platform on the ground once in the room, the ceiling will disappear."
Is this what you said?
I only did the pattern of placing the Platform in the room once it was placed on the ground.
Please calm down. You should have already known about this phenomenon.
You may be confused by too many tests.

@Pick-a-boo_doo thanks so much. Yes, trying to save a room from my boat was impossible because of the platform. It was the worst affected but it didn't affect playing the lot. It had a ceiling but it had the other problem, saving the room makes half if it vanish in the Gallery and instead it was a grey blur with another grey blur around it. But I saved the full lot to the Gallery and that was fine. (Pinewood Lake Boathouse I think it's called as I always forget their names lol).

@SheriGR I'm like you lol, crying uncle too on this one but I can't help another build keeps popping up in my head and I think "hmm I'll just test this lot next". In fact I literally just thought of another water lot I'm going to check later.

Edit: @Pick-a-boo_doo I forgot to say  by flat lot I mean a lot that is on flat ground with no steps/deck.

So, my images aren't as professional as they look on PC but I went back and tested a couple of other lots and sure enough the lot over water, using a deck was the worst affected. It has both issues we've mentioned. It's missing the ceiling (except the difference is only the platform has a ceiling but not the room for once) and it only partially shows up in Gallery/Library view. The lot itself is in the Gallery, named Aqua Villa. I don't think I noticed back when I was playing it that it had no ceiling but it's all kind of come to light since ceiling coverings were added.

The second lot in image 3 is a flat lot with a sunken dining space. It looks fine in gallery/library view and the platform is included. So that's a strange one. I even raised the floor around the sunken platform to change the levels more and it still counted as all one room. 

I also discovered on my new build today on a different lot that my double level rooms with open staircases don't get ceilings either. It doesn't have a platform so it's somewhat off topic but I thought it was an odd one, especially as the linked upstairs corridor does have a ceiling as you can see and it's all one room. Again I had to put a fence around the top and fill it in to get a ceiling. I've decided against platforms on this build to simplify it, but luckily this was the only weird issue. It's not a massive problem, just odd and I was quickly distracted by a beautiful new foal and it was impossible to be annoyed by anything after that ❤️🐎❤️!

@simsplayer818 Yes... that's another whole thing - the opening over stairways... and the workaround process to get a ceiling over when you open the area some at the top if a stairway. But yes, that is an issue for a different thread.

I downloaded "Aqua Villa" and took a look.
That's beautiful! It suits the landscape of Sulani well.
First of all, there are packs I don't have, so there are about 50 objects that have been replaced or deleted.

This kind of thing happens sometimes in my environment. Even though there is no ceiling, it is more often the case that the ceiling is drawn.
But the reality is that I don't really care because I can create and delete ceilings using commands. Not being able to do that is a problem for console players.
Back to the topic.
"Remove Ceiling" is displayed in the same way for rooms without ceilings other than this room. Only one place, the part that is the platform of the washroom, is displayed as "Build Ceiling".

It's wonder. Even though it's a part made on the same platform. Is there a difference in the process of making them?
After doing "Remove Ceiling" to make it look like there is no ceiling, the image below shows how the ceiling was created with "Build Ceiling" and the pattern was placed.

That's beautiful. I just put the same pattern on the ceiling as on the floor though.

For the time being, I tried testing with a normal pre-made vacant house and a vacant house I made myself, but neither of them gave me a speech bubble that I couldn't move. That's so wonder.

I wanted to put your mind at ease about something. You mentioned English is not your first language. We had exchange students in our home, and I know 'figures of speech' and culturally defined words or phrases can be very confusing. I was a bit worried that since both @simsplayer818 and myself used a such a phrase in this thread, that it may have been confusing.

When we say "I'm Crying Uncle" in English, we don't actually mean we're crying, or that we are upset or sad, like the words seem to mean. When we say "I'm Crying Uncle" it actually means "I'm giving up" or I'm done because I feel I have tried everything and it's not fixed'. In a case like this in testing something, it's basically saying 'well, here is the testing I did... I didn't find a solution, but hopefully the tests will be helpful to EA or in someone else figuring out a workaround or a fix'.

Anyway, you have been very kind and patient, and we both appreciate your thoughtfulness. 🙌

Yes. With a PC, you can use various tools, and it's convenient. That's a big advantage.

Ceiling paint. Ah, yes...
Really this brought up an issue that I had been turning a blind eye to.
I've also added a bug report about ceiling paint in the round room of a house I've built. A few people have already reported it.
It's great to be able to paint on the ceiling, but it's a bit annoying when it doesn't work perfectly.

When I give a detailed explanation, I am at a loss for words to use.
But it seems that about the empty house was correctly conveyed. it was good.
Usually, what you describe happens.
But this time it was different at Lagoon Look with Aqua Villa. It's really strange.
I thought that the control sims could not enter the house, so I clicked on the deck in front of the kitchen door to make the control sims go through the deck around the house to the front of the kitchen door. I then selected "Go here" to instruct the control sim.
Then, surprisingly, the control sim entered the house through the front door and tried to exit through the kitchen door.
I stopped my sim in the kitchen, and after I finished taking some images etc., I clicked "Go Home", then my sim jumped off the deck into the ocean and headed for Rabbit Hole. (I couldn't record that the scene the Sim goes home, 'cause I was surprised. lol)
I was able to see something interesting, thank you!

Yes, I complained a little in my reply to @simsplayer818, but there are many things that I can't quite grasp the meaning of in my native language sentences converted from English by a translation app.
"I'm Crying Uncle"
These words were translated literally. But the sentences in my native language were strangely funny and made me laugh a little.
If I google it, it will give me some idea of what it means. But I can't think of an appropriate scene to use the word.
And that applies to my writing as well.
There are many things that are not properly expressed when I translate the phrases in my native language into English.
This time, I was able to learn quite a lot by interacting with the two of you. thanks so much.
For issues, I thought it would be nice to just share ideas here. However, it was difficult to explain it, or to understand what was explained, and it didn't go well.

Edit: after updating to console version 1.79.25 just on the issue of ceilings over platforms and my ceiling controls not working, both of these are now working for me.
