The tarps are never empty for me when I go to the flea market. I did empty one of them doing a test and there is no option to sell anything on it at all for some reason.
I tried a yard sale with one but there's no option for it there either. I put down one of those tables you can sell at and started the yard sale, since the tarp had no option to start one or place items or anything, but even after using the table to start a yard sale nothing on the tarp is for sale. I tried replacing it during the yard sale, placing stuff on it, and it's just a rug with some furniture on it now, none for sale ☹️
I can use the tables to sell some stuff but that's so buggy and restrictive unless you're selling snow globes or certain tiny items it's not worth it. Plus at the flea market NPCs can steal your table if your sim resets for some reason and isn't tending the table anymore. Or if the flea market ends and you didn't get your stuff off in time you can lose it. If you bring your own table I think that works though and I don't think NPCs can take that over. Selling on tables is so oddly inconsistent with what you can sell it's a bit frustrating too. Nearly every dye cant be sold on the table saying there's not enough room. Even some frogs can't be sold on the table. Like the Surfer Egg Plant frog. You can't even put that on the table all by itself, it says the table is full. Some of the little toy collectibles do the same thing, can't even list 1 of them by itself for sale.
At home you can put more on the tables for sale, like anything that you can use the build buy menu to put on a table (without having to raise it manually). Small stereos, tvs and stuff like that can go on the table. Even can get the frog on the table. The dyes and some toys though wont work, since even though they cost money to buy, they have no value set, so if you put them on the table they are for sale for $0 and NPC sims will just walk off with your item for free.
I tried to put a chair on the table. Manually raising it didn't work and it wasn't for sale. I put the table on one of those tarps then put a chair on the tarp too, it still wasn't for sale.
I must be missing something or doing something wrong since furniture is sold off of those tarps at the flea market by NPC sims, and the description says it can be used that way. I just cant figure out what I'm doing wrong.
