@eirunnve  Please remove all your mods—move the Mods folder to the desktop—and delete localthumbcache.package, then test.  If the problem is gone, you can start adding back your remaining mods.  If it's still there, repair the game: open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair.

Please also keep in mind that some gameplay options aren't accessible unless you currently have a save loaded.  Trying to change them from the Main Menu doesn't work.
