Ash - Fix her - Make her viable again

Devs have vocalized and are now introducing more movement legends, even buffing the current ones. Devs moved Ash to become a skirmisher, yet she’s one of the slowest and weakest characters now. The dash is useless, her tac is useless, and the ult is too slow. What exactly about this legend screams skirmish/movement? The devs wanted to quiet all the complaints but forgot about the bunny hops, super float, stim strafe, and pounce. And now they’re adding a sliding legend?? Are you serious? How was the dash too much, but this is ok? Fix Ash, revert the tac. How else are you supposed to counter all this movement they’re introducing? Why introduce more movement with zero counter? Please revert Ash to her base kit; she was honestly fine without the dash and perfectly acceptable as an assault.

  • The slowest and weakest characters?

I'm not even reading this anymore. Your post is a joke.

Characters with no movement have been at a disadvantage FOR A VERY LONG TIME. And what are they supposed to do? Nothing. Some legends could be removed from the game at this point because they DO NOT fit the current gameplay, where everyone spams movement skills.

Every subsequent movement buff in this game causes the gap between the worst and best legends to grow steadily wider.

While I agree there is gap between non movement characters, that shouldn’t apply to a character who was reworked to become a movement character. Everything in her base assault kit was fine, the ult paid off for not having a dash. However since being moved to skirmisher with actual movement legends, yes she is one of if not the slowest and weakest OF THE MOVEMENT CHARACTERS. Whatever else needs to happen to non movement characters is a separate issue entirely. Like I said, the dash AND tac are useless. The ult being nerfed is useless. But she’s supposed compete in a class where everyone else can fly climb pounce and stim with reduced cooldown and go much further? Be real. Don’t add a separate argument. Your argument needs its own post. Adding a super glide and leaving double jump is insane after nerfing the dash and ult. Period.

I keep seeing a few people switching Ash to Wildcard and consistently racking up 20+ kills in games. They're unstoppable. I don't see Ash being in a bad spot. She's fine and not overdone.

Buffs aren't meant to make Legends OP.

The developers and some players don't seem to understand this.

In Ranked she's not very good though. If you want portals or rotation, Valk beats her, and if you want mobility, even Fuse knuckle jump beats Ashes dashes.
She is comparatively very weak. Wildcard is not a good example of whether a character is meta, as you essentially have infinite respawns as long as your team stays alive. She might be meta in that game mode due to how it is designed. But Apex is fundamentally a battle royale game, as in Pubs and Ranked, which is what the characters should be balanced towards.

I think they should bring back her double dash honestly, and double portal (which I guess is an upgrade now maybe). That Ash was so fun to play.
And the game SHOULD be balanced around fun and creativity, and then work the meta balancing around that.
Giving the players more options with how to use a characters kit is only a good think imo.
And lately it feels like they are balancing characters to be on the stronger end with way less cooldowns for abilities because they recognize it's not meaningful to impede or limit players. Let players use the skills more often across the board seems to be the thinking these days with how abilities timers have been tuned.
And with that logic, the double dashing Ash was great. And also... gas traps should NOT eat her dashes!!!! That change needs to be reverted 100%.

She's still better than half the legends, so I don't know what you're talking about.

I've expressed my opinion, and I think Ash is in a good spot (neither too weak nor too strong), and that's how it should be.

  • The introduction of the blink for Ash was a failure. If it functions properly, it becomes OP, and if it is nerfed, it becomes a mere shell and becomes significantly inferior to other movement characters.

The blink might have been an attractive feature, but it was a performance that was too powerful for us to handle. The current situation, where it cannot be adjusted, clearly tells the story.

I believe Ash should be returned to her previous state before the introduction of the blink. At the same time, her class should be returned to Assault.

Failure is proof that developers took on a challenge. There is no need to be ashamed. A true professional is one who faces failure and makes improvements.

Don't worry, they'll never admit their mistakes, and they've made plenty of them. I keep reading threads on Reddit about how much they (players) want to spam movement abilities even more, how they want to constantly buff their mains.

I even read a while ago that people were complaining that Octane was terrible again. Do you understand that? People are acting like children. You give them a finger, and the next thing they know, they want the whole arm. Octane is still great, and some people wrote that after the nerfs, he's terrible again. Sometimes I can't believe what I'm reading.

Respawn needs to learn one simple thing - buffs shouldn't be overdone, because then people get used to them and after a nerf there is a huge complaint that their character is weak again (which is obviously not true).

I agree that Ash should either go back to her original version or stay where she is. She SHOULD NOT have an improved dash, because it ruins the game, and we all remember what happened in the Ash/Ballistic/Alter meta. Ash simply couldn't be caught. It was sick and took too long. Let's never go back to that.
