Characters with bigger hitbox should have more health

Now I am not an fps player or EA fan. only here because I love hero themed games like lol/dota2/heroes of the storm/overwatch(yet not a good player) etc

but even I know that hitboxes are one of most important things in fps games. in overwatch and other moba games usually bigger charachers got larger health pool

what I suggest is simple:

remove shield of giblatar. its not feeling good to use and just annoying since you have to aim to use. instead give it extra health pool and as passive reduce headshot damage he take or give him protective barrier that will prevent all damage for 5 second when he is down it will not move. like his abilty he must stay inside of it and it will be only big enought to cover him

smilerly caustic will have even larger health pool keeping same passive.

yes this may make them stronger at melee since they will need to take 1 hit more to kill mostly (if gave that much health) but considering they dont have mobilty skill its balancing each other. if you are losing aganist them and if you are anything else you can just disengage.

Why are people against making changes to model and hitbox sizes? Defensive character doesnt have to mean bigger character. There I no logical reason why characters are literally over twice the size as others at this point. Smaller hitbox champions also have abilities that can get them out of situations, making the meta very movement based. So you've got a character literally over twice as easy to hit with no survivability. Caustics ult throwing distance is also atrocious. Shrinking / expanding champions character models and hitboxes to an average size is simple to do and the most balanced approach. Fix that and we wont have to open the damage reduction/health pool can of worms.

This is fine and Im all for it, but im not convinced it is actually that easy to do. Im not graphic artist, but it seems like it would take a lot of artwork changes to make the characters not look weird. If only they were designed close to the same size to begin with.

And the reason most tanks in video games are physically bigger is for body blocking.

That's fine. If they actually could tank damage. I'd argue smaller chaMps could be considered more tanky at this point simply because theres no health or damage reduction difference, but wraith is likely to get hit 50% as much as a caustic or gib due to hitbox. I'm no designer either, but I'd also imagine shrinking a player model and hitbox would be easier than implementing a completely new health pool shield and or damage reduction modification to select champions. Either way it's a shame because I'm a God at caustic but I can definitely tell a huge difference when I switch h off him - it doesnt feel like every 12 year old random in this game has perfect aim any more.

  • The new patch might have done slight changes to the hitboxes, but they're still bigger than the other heroes. I do wonder what Respawn are going to do to address this since I imagine the other tanks they got lined up for release are similar sizes to the tanks in game now. It's ridiculous that they spent time/money on art assets and so forth when no one wants to play these heroes because of the obvious disadvantage.

Designing the tanks to be fat is the dumbest decision Respawn have made. How can a company that has made competitive FPS games like COD think that this is ok?

I want to play Gibralter/Caustic I enjoy the tactical/ult abilities of both legends especially the defensive gameplay style of Caustic, but you have made these legends too big.

  • Removed my post..?  Nice

I hope they stop making bigger legends, no one is going to play them. It puts you at a disadvantage.

Giving them extra health will just create a lot of other issues, just fix the hitboxes and stop making big heroes to virtue signal that it's ok to be bigger or whatever they were going for.

The patch did nothing to address the larger size hitboxes.
