Console button mapping

Dear Respawn

after the latest express patch a few things have changed 

As a console player I have and always have configured my button layout to fit my preference  as have many other limited controller players .

after the patch I noticed that I am unable to utilise some buttons while in game. 

when in the map or in a loot box. I cannot ping locations on map nor can I ping any items in a enemy’s death box. Though there is a symbol there to tell me to ping in both, the action simply does not work. 

Is this a remapping problem?, can it be fixed? Am I the only one with this problem?
