Theres nothing wrong with the current shield system in fact i would go as far as saying its much better than the shields we had before the evos. The red shield is not that hard to get but that doesnt make it op i agree maybe it should cost more to take the 100 damage from your current shield or maybe make it so that you only get 50 damage instead of 100 but making a purple shield have 5 slots instead of 4 makes the red shield completely useless. The shields are pretty balanced where they are, in fact apex probably has the most balanced shield system ive seen in a battle royale
My whole point to this is to make them not so easy to get especially in rounds 1 and 2. I’ve had games where I couldn’t find teams and I’ve got blue and no nearby replicators then round 2 hits and first squad I find is decked out in red. That’s where the problem comes in, now rounds 3 and on fine just not in the early game. I honestly think a shield that gives 5 bars should honestly be a care package shield. That way people have purple are on a more level playing field which may also incline people to actually grab more gold shields. Now I see a lot of care packages unopened and if red evos are added to them people may go to them more often. I just feel red evos are on the same level as the kraber, prowler and peacekeeper.
Sorry but i totally disagree with the OP. The Evo armor are the best new thing that come to the game. Nothing come even close to its.
Current system is absolutely perfect. The TTK in the game is perfect as well. Its in the middle to be fair. Its not low, but not high as well.
If you have good aim, the TTK feel fast and satisfying.
Now on to the Evos:
To get fully Evoled Red from naked, you need to do exactly 1300 damage, and this is without swappning armors here and there.
The damage is high enough.
As far as the crafting machine, you are wasting huge time on this machine to waste it on your Armor.
I pretty much never use it to Evolve armors. First its a huge risk, cause you are going to be naked for a period of time, and you pretty much not taking the right stuffs from the crafting machine.
The only time i`m using and wasting time on the Crafting machine is to get Bats and Backpack if i totally lacs them.
I guess there is a play if you camping and hiding like rat from 1 point to another to just use the machine to upgrade your EVO. But you get like 100 materials, and you can get just 200 points/damage into your armor .... You got to do a lot of ratting, you know .... Crafting materials are not on everywhere on the map.
As far as Snipers goes, good luck with that. I guess there is a play to that too, but its terrible boring, and you will not get better at the game with that play. And still you have to do a lot of camping to get that Red Evo ...Another thing is that Purple are not that common as before, at least i don`t find many of them.
And next thing is the constant swap of armors, as everyone with skill is doing.
And Ring level 1-2-3-4-5 has nothing to do with anything. A lot of games can end up pretty quick.
I barely encounter people with Evo early or middle in the game. Mostly very late. But if people have it early, that mean they hot drop or fight a lot for it.
And this is the cool stuff with the Evo Armor, they are tied to your skills and if you are landing your shots, and you are awarded for that.
As far as removing the Red ones, and lowering the HP, this is a bad move. They already try something similar and it didn`t pays off. Its good for them to not play with TTK anymore.
