@heme725 There have been various balancing ideas already. My personal favorite is by simply making speed less of a deciding factor. The fact that you can get from a very suboptimal range to perfect range within a second or two makes shotguns to what they are today. I as a sniper should know that. You take cover for 2 seconds to reload and you suddenly hear the door opening and it's the people that you previously shot at that was in the other house.

@Peri_Longbow_plz True. To keep a target out of close range you have to regularly maintain line of sight so you can punish any movement immediately. That works well for me but its obvious that it isn't always possible.
I see how mobility can make shotguns a problem but the Dev's aren't going to penalize movement. Without the movement in Apex shotguns are fine or perhaps even below average weapons but with mobility...
I disagree with other posters who think shotguns shouldn't be the strongest close range gun but I can't deny your points.
