@MrGreenWithAGunthey refuse to
only supports are allowed to have that skill, or teams with a support on it
if you want banner crafting, support person required
that doesn't always happen for me
usually because I'm questing rather than playing my preferred legends
they did relent and allow anyone on a support's team to banner craft, but only while a support is on the team.
When lifeline abandons us while I'm escaping as vantage, I am no longer able to craft fuse's banner, so I have to get cooked in the ring trying to grab fuses banner because lifeline abandoned us
abandoned meaning quit game because they were dead and could care less about their team's status
those sort of people should be penalized or banned
My strat is simple: escape and find replicator to craft the banners, then bring them back
Lifeline/other support: leaves game
ring already ate fuse
Me: Shoot! I gotta manually grab the banner now
goes into ring
heat shield
grabs banner, heals, grabs meds
runs
deploys heat shield
250 meters to exit the ring, out of heat shields
used med kit 0.3 seconds too late, didn't realize until too late to use syringe
could have avoided meltdown had lifeline remained part of our crew
Yes that was a previous match used as an example, but it's a common occurrence.
Thus I normally play either crypto or a support to have easy access to the banner. Skirmishers and vantage aren't good enough at mobility to cut it.
But when I'm questing, and it's not crypto or a support, I get caught in no win scenarios because my supports leave before I can use their skill and my non supports wait for me to get killed in the process of trying to save them or bring them back, because it's not as easy to grab their banner without crafting or drone.
With this, I could do wraith quests and guarantee my banner crafting, also being able to open blue boxes is a nice benefit.
Remember Valkyrie+Recon? Trade care package insight for threat vision and survey beacon. That would be a nice combo.
Passive: Skirmisher+Recon
Tactical: Assault
Ultimate: Skirmisher, plus passive = Recon
Half skirmisher, half recon, part assault.
Does anyone ever use her as recon? Or only as skirmisher? Sure its easy to use her as skirmisher, but I find more power in her recon capabilities while skydiving.
I also wish she had the ability to hold jump while grounded and full fuel to charge a micro burst to propel her 2-3 stories into the air for a micro skydive, more accessibility for her passive. Possibly a little extra distance, possibly not. I feel like she'd instantly start the landing cycle because it launches so low. Like 1/3rd or 1/2 the height of the ult. Only really useful for distance IF cast on the top of a very tall building and/or heading downhill. Again, purpose is more accessibility for passive.
I honestly use her only for the skydive passive. I can never get a good aim with the rockets, either because in buildings or because targets are long gone or double back by the time the rockets land. Funny because I can never escape them. And how people can dance circles around me in both directions and I can't even accelerate to half their speed is beyond me. The system doesn't allow for their speed. Or mine doesn't anyways.
Same goes for octane's jump pad. One time I tried it in the range, before the evo alteration, and my ally always went 5 meters higher than I could, and thus also went farther as well. Even when we were just bouncing straight up and down, my height topped 5m shorter than his. We tried various legends and there was no difference, mine was always 5m shorter.
I think his went to 50 and mine 45 m heights.
Mine was about a meter below the platform on the right side of the firing range. His was about 2 dummy heights above the platform.
Back to original content.
I wish they would allow EVERYONE to craft banners, regardless of whether or not a support is on the team.
I'm pretty sure they said that will never happen.
This LTM is an alternative. Also I want to see what each person plays as.
Perhaps there will be badges for what a person plays most as.
I'd end up getting the support badge.
Others would be other things, depending on what they like the most.
Since Skirmisher doesn't have multiple effects, I get a feeling it would never be picked, or very seldom.
Then again, a rush to a care package could turn the tide, so some might still choose it.
Heh, loba skirmishers would be killer in there.
I still prefer support.
When running with a group of skirmishers, a Loba is a good way to double dip. Tactical for escape/catchup. Support class for banner crafting.
And if they have a tendency for getting themselves killed, as most skirmishers do, that's why banner crafting is essential. You don't have to stick with the suicidals. If you see they are definitely getting themselves killed, pull a tactical retreat, wait for them to die, craft banners, bring them back, attempt to tell them not to make such foolish mistakes, and watch them run into death again because they don't listen to you and call you names for not joining their suicide fights.
