Mastiff the worst shotgun?

I've picked up the Mastiff in a few games now and always feel like it massively underpreforms. Unless you are extremely close it deals rather low damage, often on par or lower than the Mozam', while not being as fast or as easy to use. The Eva-8 is that niche gun you use for running after someone, but Mastiff just falls short. Maybe it could get more pellets with lower dam, but more focus in the middle or something. I understand it has that flat muzzle-thing, but if it's not helping it's hard to see why it's in game.

    It still can deal 33 damage on range of 30 meters. I treat it as a shotgun, but with longer range, in case of which you don't need to wait for the precision choke while aiming.

    Then, the slightly lower fire rate won't hurt you, and you can deal damage safely. It may be somewhat useful, especially, if you have a lot of ammo.

    I think not everyone likes to decrease the distance, if their shield is already damaged, so it can keep enemies at bay that way.

    But yes, if you are extremely close, low rate of fire makes it weaker and its easy to loose to SMGS.

    I prefer to use EVA-8 all the time anyway. 🤔

    @DesertDust91 33 damage with the fire rate that Mastiff has is pretty much nothing, I mean yeah if you have nothing else... But then even a P2020 would probably outgun it.
    I'll try it a bit with short-medium range an see if I'll find it useful tho'.

    Right, but they forgot to mention how you need zero aim to use it and get that 33 damage pellet lol.

    @Realthing707 Had the misfortune of using it again today. 11's and 33's... it is just bad. I rewoke saying it had something going for it.

    Yeah you need to be super close, it shreds.
    I use Mastif only, its just super satysfying to aim downsight that b***h into someones face. :D

    I would say Peacekeeper is worse because I cant aim with it for some reason. :D

    @DrWizardo I will say that the Mastiff is better now. I still like the Mozam' more, but I can use the Mastiff now which is a huge +.
