@RedpawsQI think you're right.
I was surprised that you needed to use an entire shield battery to charge the rifle, it's a cool gimmick but shield batteries are just far more useful than getting up to an extra 40 damage on your first shot. I could see this maybe working with shield cells instead, I think the trade off there is worth it a little more.
I think you're right though about the damage, 65 is pitiful for a bolt action when you consider the Longbow does 55, and the triple take lands you 69 with all three bolts. I think the damage should be upped to about 75, then make the disruptors cause people to take 2x longer charging their shields until fully charged again. Think would actually make the weapon serve a purpose, as popping a battery would take longer than using a Phoenix kit, so making a push after sniping would be so much easier.
After 45 games of season 4 and 15 victories, I can say that the sentinel is UNDER powered. Sure it can be annoying to have your shield broken in one shot, but the follow up time is so long that it is very easy to take cover. Using a shield battery to charge it seems like a waste for only 100 damage and NO headshot bonus.
My proposed BUFF: keep mechanic, but increase disruptor headshot damage to 150 before helmets, and damage increase / decrease. A headshot should do more damage with disruptor powerup. The weapon feels ok, but disappointing with powerup headshots.
Also body shot damage could be higher for a very low fire rate weapon.
Atleast the weapon isn't stupid overpowered like the original charge rifle. They learn from their "mistakes".
- 6 years ago@Pallo420 I agree with the headshot on the battery. needs to be rewarded.

Considering just how slow it is... I think maybe even 75 damage would be alright on it. Means it could two-tap someone with white armor, and oneshot Gibraltar's current gunshield.
And like I said before, make it use shield cells instead for ONE shot, and either increase headshot damage (2.33x multi for 175 would be really nice) or make it damage shields BEFORE the main damage. Imagine if it did 50 shield damage before dealing its main damage. Means it'd deal up to 125 damage in a single shot. Else... I'm not sure. I think giving the Sentinel, of all weapons, disruptor rounds was a bad idea from the start.
Why boost the damage so it can oneshot shields when the current one already only leaves them with 35 shields? And why consume a battery to get 6 shots when you only get any benefit from the first round? Unless you're shooting a different legend with each shot, but then you're spreading your damage out so much that nothing will actually die. This is the main reason why I think a single shot from a shield cell would be infinitely better. You only NEED disruption on the first round, and you really shouldn't be wasting shield batteries ever.
Alternatively, make the disruptor rounds only do 25 shield damage, but goes right through it, dealing full bullet damage to their health even if they still got shields up. At least then you'd have an actual reason to want 6 shots, and have a reason to waste a battery on it. Could also go through Gibraltar's gunshield and knockdown shields. MAYBE even Gibraltar's dome shield.
I don't know what they'll do with it, but hopefully SOMETHING because right now it's a terrible base weapon, with a useless gimmick. Which is sad, since the idea is really cool.
