Rank rework season 13 critic

@Balladalidilawhy should rage filled hard demotions only be experienced by the 99% ?
How about every 1000 RP after Master you get a demotion milestone... if the master or predator loses points in 3 consecutive games at that 1000 RP milestone he is demoted 800 points lower.
Demotion for me no demotion for thee??

Hrm I think the demotion isnt that bad and I actually think its pretty standard to have such system. At least it was like this in LoL. Maybe you can think about it this way: If you re in, lets say, Gold4, HOPEFULLY, the new ranked system will have a such narrow SBMM that the majority of players actual skill in your lobbies is around precisely "average" Gold4 skill, give or take... So if you hit 0 RP at Gold4 and then fail to gain a single RPs three matches at a row at this rank, then this tells that your actual skill probably isnt corresponding that well to your current rank of Gold4. So it would actually be in your own interest to be demoted halfway down in silver1.

 In a "real" game with a good ranked mode, the rank is about playing at a ELO where you belong skill wise and if you improve skill wise, you will slowly advance to the next ELO range. But likewise; if you dont improve you will remain there and ofc if you actually becomes worse, you will slowly be demoted from that ELO towards new, lower elo that fits your skill better.  I think the purpose of this ranked system is to try to make Apex ranked like this so I think we must try to "forget" how ranked in Apex has been since the release.  Ranked mode NOW has pretty much been about grinding to the rank where you get hardstuck and then quit play ranked or start playing on your smurf in waiting for the soft reset where you can start over the same process. THis is bad IMO.

But yeah, I am also a bit worried that ranked mode will just be a huge "avoid fights at all costs" until the circles are so small that people are forced to fight....

 I welcome the ranked changes however I think that there may be a lot of misconceptions on how demotion will work and I see it this way (from a previous post in the general conversation area). 

I think the demotion protection removal is a bit misunderstood at the moment.

So lets say I make Plat 4 have used up my 3 protected matches and continue to lose RP and get demoted to the lower rank that would then put me at 50% marker in Gold 1. we are all agreed on this point.

So lets just say you are at that 50% gold 1 point and continue to have bad games and continue to lose RP then you will drop tiers with in gold 2-3-4 and if you then lose enough to drop to Silver then you will get dropped to 50% Silver one mark etc etc. so yes I believe you can in fact keep getting dropped if you keep having bad games. 

Like I said before the point is to play as a team. 

Think of the new Ranked system as a Pubs ALGS because that is what the new system is gearing towards.

We will see this coming Tuesday. 

I do think it will make it harder for the non team players solo q players that can play with other Randoms that play as a team will be OK. 

This will also as you said more than likely balance out the ranks better and a lot of those solo Q hard stuck D4's are going to find out that they are at best Plat players.

You are absolutely right about that in the current matchmaking system, with its wide SBMM with no real correlation skill and ranked (at least not below D3) and way to generous RP handouts compared to RP entry cost..  But hopefully, the new system changes that.  But we will have to see about that. It might be a big failure but all I say is that I am willing to give this new system a change because it looks like an intresting approach in theory and the current ranked system is obviously broken. In no serious competitive PvP should you be able to climb the ranks way above your actual skill level just by grinding.

 But if the new system is more fun play is a totally different question =)
