S20 Ranked system brought nostalgia, but is deprecated and outdated now (HOWTO)

Hi!

The old ranking system was brought back with improvements. That's a good and bad idea.

Some suggestions, the purpose being to bring everyone at their proper placement faster instead of having excessive gaps in ranks, removing the "Platinum IV wall", and preventing top players from having to destroy too many games/players to get back to higher games.

  • Consecutive top 5 streak bonus is great. It rewards placement, finally we're rewarding BR when playing BR. Great. Add the same for consecutive wins, so high-skill people go to higher placement faster instead of going back to ranked against newbies (same RP values on top of Top5 ones).
  • Challenger Bonus never really occurs, due to the MM system (the game matches on highest rank from preamade squads, therefore only lower ranks join higher games), but it's fine.
  • We're still playing a BR, not a TDM. We're not responsible for all other players killing themselves far from us: we're responsible of people we encounter and who gets away.
  • The curve will ALWAYS look like that, and (spoiler) it will bend a little towards DIV on next season.
  • I don't think you wanted to see litterally ~0% people in DIII DII and DI. If so, just remove those ranks and make them unique like Master (sad idea).
  • You forgot to add the number of days left at season start, you should also add the end date on the info tab.
  • RP is not clear at all, despite the claims of S20 announcement:
    • You need to add the info of how much we lose for our next match start.
    • You need to add the global progression, stating how many total points people need, it's not crushing at all, it's useful.
      Make an info graph for that in the info tab, please.
  • Please increase minimum level to 30 (instead of 20) to enter Ranked. Cheating and smurfing rely on that.
  • You need to bring back progressive cost for each intermediary rank, linearization gives the following; to smooth the fatal output of end season:
    • B IV - 0 RP
    • B III - 3 RP
    • B II - 6 RP
    • B I - 9 RP
    • S IV - 13 RP
    • S III - 17 RP
    • S II - 21 RP
    • S I - 25 RP
    • G IV - 30 RP
    • G III - 35 RP
    • G II - 40 RP
    • G I - 45 RP
    • P IV - 51 RP
    • P III - 57 RP
    • P II - 63 RP
    • P I - 69 RP
    • D IV - 76 RP
    • D III - 83 RP
    • D II - 90 RP
    • D I - 97 RP
    • M+P - 105 RP
  • Then, about placement, replace current points with this linearization:
    • 20 19 18 17 16 15 14 13: +0 RP
    • 12: +2 RP
    • 11: +5 RP
    • 10: +10 RP
    • 9: +15 RP
    • 8: +20 RP
    • 7: +25 RP
    • 6: +30 RP
    • 5: +45 RP
    • 4: +60 RP
    • 3: +80 RP
    • 2: +100 RP
    • 1: +150 RP
  • Combat points: change to this:
    • 20 19 18 17 16 15 14 13 +6 RP
    • 12 +8 RP
    • 11 +9 RP
    • 10 +10 RP
    • 9 +11 RP
    • 8 +12 RP
    • 7 +13 RP
    • 6 +14 RP
    • 5 +15 RP

  • No combat kills limit, no points reduction past 6. 1290 points if you kill a whole complete server for some reason (GL HF on that).
  • Respawn points: +10RP per teammate starting round 3.
  • Full squad wipe: +5RP. Rewards highest games where getting more kills become harder.
  • Participation: change from half to third, rounded up (symbolic for trios).
  • Indicate at start or during a game if loss forgiveness will happen for non complete squads with "fill teammates" on.
  • Indicate which rank a player will have after season split in info tab.
  • Indicate on each major rank points required in main ranked panel, as it was during the first seasons.
  • Bring Predator Rank down to 1000 top players instead of 750. Minor change but symbolic output.
  • Add cosmetics preview like you for pretty much everything else in this game for seasonal ranked rewards. They're never mentioned anywhere.
