and again the downplay and shifting topic to the movement ... so predictable ... just put a differen record on guys.
Acknowledge for once that you have advantages in certain situations given through the assist and dont deny that fact, thats all i want.
Idc if there is aim assist, but i do care if people make it look like this would be not an issue. It is an issue and not only apex exclusive, otherwise people would not start complain. - @DaleFox2012 agreed and I play mostly on Xbox. Aiming sucks, movement sucks, period. And I spent many hours trying to improve on this to no avail. Really do not know where this cOntrOllEr AiMbOt is. In all my time playing, never once I felt like my aim was aimbotting to the target. I tried various settings too, but yeah, same thing all over. To me controller is basically unplayable. The only reason I keep playing is because I don't want to leave my cosmetics.
I really never practiced MnK seriously either, aside from building a bit of muscle memory to remember where the keys are. I am relatively new to MnK, started maybe 2 years ago. I have played controller for basically all my life, since pretty much Halo CE days. And to me MnK is still far superior.
Fun fact, I did my arena kill/damage record on Xbox with 0.4 AA. I switched to 0.6 shortly after but I was never able to replicate it since. Starting to think that maybe AA is just a hindrance if anything. - r1ggedgame3 years agoSeasoned Ace
no one is talking about aimbot ... also a tactic to divert ...
But there is situation where the assist clearly has an edge over non assisted inputs.
especially in close fights with a lot of visual clutter, the aim assist will keep you around the target due to the slowdown where as a mouse user has a hard time tracking bcs he simply cannot see the opponent with all the sprites flying around. HAL often complaint about the visual clutter, and i guess this is the reason why he switched to controller. - @r1ggedgame a lot of people call it aimbot, soft aimbot, whatever. As far as I am concerned, it's a trash input to play this game on.

@AcidicSoda44031yea , those misconceptions of both sides just destroy the discussion about it. one has to dig deep into the topic to actually make educated statements, most people dont ... but parrot stuff they heard or saw on YT. thats also part of the reason why the fronts are hardened.
I just want Controller players to acknowledge that there is n edge to the aimassist, even if they cant make use of it ... pros def do as we see by a lot of them switching to controller. They would not give up the movement advantage if the assist wouldnt be that deciding in certain situations.
It also strongly depends on the way you play, ALGS matches often end in a cluster ph**k where you could profit off the assist, pubs and rank matches likely not. - @r1ggedgame
By all means I wish I could turn it off. I'm already getting stomped with the aim assist as is.
Though if you want to go onto to the topic about how controller players always complain about mnk movements..how many starting topics do you see from a controller players, asking for mnk movement advantages to be removed??
I only see the topic diversion after someone makes a comment about the unfairness of controller aim assist..when isn't that very aim assist supposed to make up for the lack in movement controller players have vs a pc player?
As a controller player who struggles with aim assist, I find it funny, so I make it a point to tell the pc players to remove something that's actually helpful to them since they want to complain about something that hinders me more than it actually helps.
It seems to me that a lot of pc players don't really know what it's like to play on controller and that they often mistake these strike pack users for real controller players.
Quite honestly I don't know how pc players do it moving so fast and being able to consistently hit their targets 100m away, because surely if aim assist was so great, even at my low skill level I should be able to do the same. - r1ggedgame3 years agoSeasoned Ace@XxColdFangxX oh look , even a pro making a vid about my point https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ulHMrgaVfk
@r1ggedgame
Lol you really expect me to take this convo seriously when you are taking ques from a pro??
Dude if only my aim assist acted like that at close range. It does NOT.Of course the pro who plays well on both is going to think it's op and even "demonstrate" so.
What I saw here was click bait. He talked only in the beginning about aim assist and how it works at close range. The rest was just him owning at both close range and distance like I'm sure he does on mnk.
He didn't talk about the down sides of aim assist I've noticed. Like how I constantly have to fight with my controller to follow a player instead of the aim assist fixating on where the player USED to be.
Or all the times my aim assist, "assisted" me to an already downed player because he simply crawled too close to the target I was actually shooting at.
Anything you put in a pros hands is going to look good when they work at it long enough. So this doesn't seem valid to me.- r1ggedgame3 years agoSeasoned Ace
@XxColdFangxXif you would look at when the video was posted you would see i posted my point way before he released his vid. some people take a word of a pro more seriously than my approach. thats why i posted it. and to repeat myself, not everyones playstyle does profit off the assist. you might actually change certain ways you approach a fight to actually get the advantage, but its there ...
@r1ggedgame
No I did not look at the date, but that's besides the point.
The way everyone talks about aim assist it's like they're being beamed from across the map with it.
The facts remain, that an experienced player is going to do better with or even without the aim assist.
Take that video from someone who plays casually and try telling me there isn't a difference. That the aim assist was op and did everything for them.Aim assist might guide you to a target, but it does not track them when they start moving. That's on the player to do and often in my case it drags behind.
I've played on controller for pretty much my whole life. I comparison to other aim assisted games I've played, it's been trash.
