the Alarm: The Risks of Character Reworks in Apex Legends

While reworks are effective for fresh, they come with risks concerning game balance and monetization opportunities.

List of Risks

1.Game Balance Collapse: Reworks can make certain Legends overpowered (OP). This can skew the meta, reduce Legend diversity, and make matches feel monotonous. When a Legend is changed their skill or playstyle fundamentally , it results in player frustration and a drop in engagement.

2.Loss of Monetization Opportunities: If rework transforms Legend into a "different character" , players who invested in theim may feel their purchases have lost value.

3.Loss of player trust: Intentional meta shifts, while initially offering novelty, can be short-lived. Frequent or drastic changes can cause player confusion and backlash.

Conclusion

While reworks offer freshness, their implementation needs an extremely cautious approach. It's not enough to simply adjust performance. It's crucial to maintain a character's "core identity" and avoid eroding player trust. Gaining player trust is hard, but losing it is easy. Sustaining a healthy game environment and a strong trust relationship with players is key to maintaining and creating monetization opportunities.

Thank your time.

  • Even regular players know about it, but devs don't? This is ridiculous.

Fire the devs who are ruining the game step by step since season 21.

Apologize (because I don't think they'll want to come back) to those who were fired before all these stupid changes that have been exacerbated since the Ash rework.

I'm proud of you Apex players. Let's show them that their game is something completely different now than it used to be - THIS IS NOT WHY WE LOVED APEX.

Currently it's a game for kids with no skills.

    Always Ash/Ballistic/Sparrow/Alter with Devo/P2020.

This is not the Apex Legends we want.
