Thermite Grenade

This grenade is almost useless, so can I have time to rework it? Besides, it happens that the effect of this weapon (flames) jumps around the textures of the surroundings and models of the characters ... Perhaps instead of one line of flames, this grenade could act similarly to a Molotov cocktail, or scatter in a dozen or so small fire puddles in a given area?

There is one more thing. No one uses termite Grenade, because the fire line it creates blocks visibility. The problem is that it is a perfect veil for people looking from afar. Those who stand close to the flames have excellent visibility. So this grenade is ineffective and can also help the enemy against whom we use it.

  • Jup, should be an area instead of a line and also burn a couple of seconds longer. Right now it's just inventory space waste.

    It's fine if you use it correctly. If you know someone is behind a corner you throw this and the fact it's a line will make it so it hits the guy instantly, it usually does 50+ damage depending how well placed it is, I usually take down their armor at start of games when using it.

    It's more reliable for instant damage, making it difficult for the enemy to see you and area denial than the other 2 grenades, although I prefer using arc star grenades.

  • No, it's not fine, because this grenade is bugged and need too much precision for being usefull. Behind corner? Look at map. it's open! there is a really small amount of areas, when you can throw it behind corner. Maybe in bunker, but most locations have a few ways, so please...

    No one using this weapon right now and this is enough proof that it is useless.

  • @preyandplay I agree. I was about to write a feedback post for this as well, but you've already beaten me to it.

    In a nutshell, I think the damage needs to be amplified on the thermite grenade, and it needs to have a timed fuse, so when thrown in the air, a larger area can be sporadically covered in flames that can deal trickle damage, where as a concentrated puddle on a target can cause insanely quick and heavy damage.

  • I just don't see it that way. You buff it too much and it will become a must use weapon to initiate fights. It's instantaneous so I don't think it should be on par with the arc star and grenades damage. I have no trouble doing damage to players with this grenade. Preyandplay, you're saying there is no cover in the open map, no rocks or obstacles people hide behind?

  • I think this grenade could be changed but still do the same thing. If instead of creating this janky almost useless line of fire damage, it could instead pulse out in an aoe every second 3 or 4 times and burn someone for x amount of damage if they just stand in it. I like the idea of the grenade, it just feels useless most of the time. Why take a thermite when you could just take an arc instead which is better 99% of the time.
