What's so great about Wraith's knife?

Wraith's knife is a cosmetic in the game Apex Legends. It's the rarest item in the game but... it's really disappointing. Most rarest items in games are powerful or have a buff than others. But this weapon is just a skin for your fists. It should at least be a throwable or a higher damage count. It pointless if not added. Yes it gives others and advantage but people will eventually get it. There are no duplicates. Let me know if this is reasonable to debate.

  • I'm forced to disagree, the idea is most of these types of items are aesthetic based items. Suddenly making someone have increased damage, range, and overall effectiveness especially in early game, is just asking for trouble.

Most importantly, this just leads us into pay to win. Someone gets a knife, so everyone else needs a buff or special weapon like that, only way to get it is through boxes. Some people might be lucky and get it in a random box, but most people aren't going to see it at all, unless they spend money on the game. Which means anyone who simply can't spend money on it, will always be given a disadvantage to those that can.

  • Hey there!

The reason why it is a cosmetic only item is because this game is not intended to be "Pay to win".

If they would give the knife only a slight buff they would create a unhealthy game and go against what they promote on there website.

Can players spend money in Apex Legends to receive a gameplay advantage?
No. In Apex Legends, we don’t sell any items that offer a gameplay advantage.

When you enter the Ring, no player will have an advantage based on how much they have spent.

Apex is supported primarily by cosmetics and new characters (which can also be earned).

  • What's so great about it is that you get a fantastic looking skin that very little people have been lucky enough to get, because it has extremely low chance to drop. It does look fantastic when you run around with it and as others pointed out, adding addional benefit to it will put the game into the 'Pay to Win' zone, which is never good. It's fine, as it is and its good that the developers are firm on their position to keep it that way!

I actually don't mind this that much at all honestly, it's not game changing, it's not an advantage, it's simple and I like the idea a lot. They do already have special executions, I don't see why this couldn't work if we actually wanted to give the knife a little more UMPH.

I think a special execution would be fine, but it has to be a cool one. 👿

  • You sound like you just got lucky or spent a lot of money. Man you have to understand not all of us are rich and you only get about 40 apex packs for free + i'm not gonna get started on all the pay to win
