Why I will be uninstalling Apex Legends.

Been playing this game for something like a year and 3 months. An average player, I worked my way to level 500. Before reaching this level, as a solo queuer, I had a good mix of squads i.e. noobs, average players, seasoned players, and good players. As I enjoyed the game, I spent money on it and  have played nearly every day.

However, since achieving level 500, and particularly in Season 8, all I get is noobs/low ranks in my squad. These players either run off and die 1 v 3 at the start, or loot, loot, loot, and then die immediately upon first  contact. This leaves me to 1 v 3 - which does not end well for me.  I have just played for approx. two and a quarter hours. In that time (around 25 - 30 games) I saw 2 squadmates with more than 400 kills. Most of my squadmates have less than 100  kills or are under rank 100! I am sick and tired of this!!!!

WTF is going on here? I am wasting my time playing this game.  The game is now unplayable for me; it never used to be like this. I do NOT want a squad that constantly consists only of noobs. Infact wouldn't it be better to put all players of a similar rank together?  Let the noobs have their own server. The easiest thing to do would be to split servers by rank. I don't want to be playing with ranks below, for example, 250.

This is not only ruining my gaming experience but those players that get put in my squad - since I have taken to the habit of leaving most games at the start when I see what I have been matched with. Thereby leaving 2 noobs to run 2 v 3 for their game. I have absolutely no intention of wasting time in those kind of games anymore. I spent the best part of an hour and a half leaving games tonight. I think I had 2 decent squads.

There is just no need for this. Players could be matched according to a rank range when solo queueing - or at least have that option.

And Ranked games are a complete no go: I get the same inexperienced players and if  I die I am forced to sit and watch them loot and die or get a penalty if I leave the game.

As I said it never used to be like this for me. - This is only since achieving Rank 500.  Well, I will not be creating SMURF accounts, nor spending any more money on this game, until I get my game back. I will wait to see what happens in season 9 and when it turns out the same, as I expect it will - I will uninstall.

Penalty in non-ranked game ? As far as I remember, penalties were used only in ranked games.

And I'm sure that level is unrelated with experience.
For example player got high level in first seasons and drop the game and now he is returning in game.
  • @G3T_ST1FF3D I’ve been level 500 since Season 5 and my lobbies consist of players anywhere between level 2 and 500, I agree with some of what you are saying but maybe that is where you are meant to be

Occasionally I may get lucky and get a 2k damage game and then it bumps me up into lobbies where everyone has 20 bombs, 3-4ks, 5-30k+ kills, etc... and I know for a fact thats not where I am meant to be because I just get destroyed lol so maybe the level 2-500 lobbies are where we are meant to be but just because someone is level 2 doesn’t always mean they are bad but I do get a clueless bangalore or lifeline I run into every now and then
  • @G3T_ST1FF3Dsame here the game most of the time puts you with 2 bellow your skill level teammates that you forced to carry...most of my random teammates only thing they are good at is to loot loot and loot ...i dream for solos but they refuse to add it ... they added "highly requested" no-fill lol i never wanted this and broke the game for 2 months in duo's you always solo ...

I have the same exact experience you describe. The Matchmaking pairs one "supposedly" stronger player with 2 very low level players.
As a result everyone gets frustrated. Also, the difference in playstyle IMO is cause for frustration --say super passive playstyle paired with super aggressive playstyle.
That aside. The matchmaking gives priority to speed of matching vs quality of matching.
Here is an article talking about matchmaking.

I have tried to look for a team through the discord, but it is exceptionally hard to come by players who do not think of themselves as the next "God of Apex" and are easy to point fingers and become toxic when someone won't play as they want, or as in the case of matchmaking, players who are completely inexperienced and only look to be carried.

  • @G3T_ST1FF3D Definitely agree with the leaving part. Whenever I see weak teammates followed by a strong champion squad, I leave immediately. That lobby is 100% a waste of time and getting into a new lobby only takes a few seconds.

If the matchmaking doesn't give me a fighting chance, I'm creating it myself. It's that simple.
  • If you leave a Ranked game you put your teammates at an unfair disadvantage, so you deserve the penalty. They should increase the level of punishment for early leavers, it's just stupid. Something like the penalty time increases by 5 minutes for the amount of times you've leaved and if you keep leaving you get season bans from Ranked, and even account bans.

Leavers deserve to be punished, if they're going to * over low level teammates or their inability to win gun fights they shouldn't play shooter games. Simple as that.

  • @Solim66 Are you Apex Predator? Most of the time I get an Apex Predator with a 4k 20 bomb etc and even though I have 1k kills they just instantly leave during the dropship ._.

@TheApexLegendNub I'm extremely far from an apex predator and I only got a few 2k damage badges. To be honest, I'm still relatively bad at the game.
I also have to agree that getting a top tier player in your team can be annoying because most of them are quite toxic. 80% chance of dropping solo and an even higher percentage of being called a noob (or much worse) when they die first.
