Wingman Feedback (my personal feedback)

In my own personal opinion & experience after +80 hours playing APEX Legends, I can say that the Wingman definitely needs a tweak of some kind.

Easiest solution is to either:

1.) Reduce the magazine size.

and/or

2.) Increase the delay between shots fired.

Maybe this was intentional, but the Wingman heavily favors (too much IMO) players that have high skills (aim-to-fire).

Now, I have nothing against high-skill players, if I get downed because someone emptied an entire clip of a high-recoil gun, straight into me, without missing 1 shot, then it's (GGWP) to him for his skill & for practicing recoil-reduction.

But the Wingman takes this to a whole other level !

This is especially true for those 1k/2k (kills) players that end up in a game with under (lvl.10 / lvl.20) Players (either new-to-the-game APEX Players, or simply Players that don't play FPS all the time/as much as these pros).

I will add that I genuinely think the Wingman should be powerful, and that Players should be rewarded for landing those Wingman shots, but when someone can land 7 out of 8 Wingman shots, then they should either only play with other Players that have similar skill levels as they do, OR the majority of the APEX Legends Players should be given a tweaked Wingman.

As a start should remove extended magazine option.

It is a revolver after all.

I am getting increasingly frustrated with those who think lowering the magazine size makes any difference to the Wingman. 6 shots as standard are more than enough, and with the way you can play Wingman and what makes it so much more effective is how you can peek and pop in-out of cover makes 6 shots and quick reloads a nothing subject. I couldn't care less for extended mags, nor do I care about Skullpiecer because neither are required.

Imo, to balance the Wingman -

    • Lower the RoF by a little so it cannot be spammed, you'll need to be careful with your shots, rather than careless and hopeful LMB-spam.
    • Obviously, reducing the hip fire accuracy is a must.
    • Lower body shot damage, somewhere between 20-30 (still higher than other weapons that use Heavy weapons other than snipers), so that it's less rewarding (overpowered) to land body shots and to abuse it in CQC.
    • Increase the reload time and keep it a 6 shot revolver with no option to have extended mag.
    • Lastly, make the recoil higher, so that it requires a lot more skill with a high reward if you get a headshot(s) /w Skullpiecer.

This then becomes an interesting weapon with downsides like everything else, and more importantly, stops it being the best weapon in nearly every situation.

6 shots on a revolver should be standard.  In fact you realize a revolver doesn’t use a magazine right?

also 6 shots and no extended mag would lesson the guns ability to win 1v2 and + fights.  Your not wrong itd still be the strongest gun in game but it’s a better starting nerf that makes sense as well.
