  • So another day of asking "where does the money go ?". Even Mihoyo told people what they do with theirs.

I knew,  that $10 I gave them would go far!  They made billions?  They must have invested it very well.  I am so glad I could help out. 👍

  • It's kind of easy to think that games like Apex are actually digital marketplaces with games attatched to draw in punters. When you look at the money being made it seems pretty clear that this is actually the case. Seems like profit over play/players to me. So I'm slightly embarassed to admit I've spent £50 on Apex this month. I guess I'm just a chump after all.

Games used to be better (in my opinion). Battlefield 2 was fantastic for gameplay and for meeting people. And that game was released in 2005 by DICE and published by EA who later acquired DICE. Look at Battlefield now! Admittedly games are better in a lot of ways but much worse in some of the most important aspects that matter to players. It's just so dissapointing. We don't really help our cause either. It all seems to be about control instead of a vision for something that players really want.

  • I mean, come on, we did know this.

Game Design from EA and Activision is a far, FAR second place to making money.

Go on, buy that $18 skin!  A little blackmail only hurt a little bit of you, right? :D

  • @Marge010 Yeah, I get all the gripery. As a shareholder I'm kinda happy people are willing to plow money into a free game. As a player I'm shocked that people are willing to plow money into a free game.

If people wanna spend money on this game then that's up to them. Nothing forces anyone to do it so the choice is there for everyone to either purchase in game items or just play for free.

I bought the battle pass once and I use the coins I get back to buy the battle pass the following season. Personally I don't get why people spend a lot on cosmetics when you only really see them in the loading screen. I also don't understand paying over £100 to get an heirloom that makes no difference to the game apart from animation. To me it doesn't seem worth it at all and it seems like a big rip off. But that's just my opinion.
