Apex legends going down ranks for no reason

I was annoyed to log on to apex this morning and find my rank had gone from gold 1 about to reach platinum four (my goal for the season) down to the start of silver 3 I was not happy as all my hard work gaining ranks was lost and I can't be bothered to play ranked anymore as I spent days of grinding to rank up and now i have to start from scratch .
