Cheating in Wildcard

I am sick and tired of complaining about the cheaters in Wildcard.  Today I tried playing and almost all enemies were immune to gunfire.  The shots literally just went right through the players in all the Matches.  The Nemesis was the only gun that would register, and even it the cheaters would jump real high (about 3x as high as normal) and bounce in weird shapes impossible to do in the game so that you couldn't shoot them.  Seriously, Faid couldn't have stood a chance against these guys.

If you want to keep cheating legal in this game then I want to be able to do it too.  If I decide to stick with this game I am starting the complaint process mentioned in the ToS and am going to tell them it is discrimination if I don't get the same opportunities as other players, they need to modify my account to have these abilities or include them as extra software I can purchase.  Abilities such as invisibility, auto refilled health (where health auto heals at 25%), ability to jump 3x as high, ability to swim in the air, triggerbot (game aims and shoots for you while mode is on), aimbot, rapid fire, one shot melee kills, ability to shoot through rocks and crates, etc need to be available to all players and not just a private discord club that pays a few hundred a month or buys a special device or it is discrimination.  Two of the top pred coaches have admitted during their YouTube podcasts that 70% of the top preds are cheating.  I believe it is much higher than 70% on the levels lower than pred because the mass cheating is creating a "feedback loop" where the cheaters cannot defeat the preds in that 70% bracket that have mastered the art of cheating.  It has now become "wallet vs wallet" on who can purchase the best cheats from the best designer.

The only reason I'm not just walking away at this point is the thousands of hours I've wasted practicing.  However, at this point I might just cut my losses since the game is dying.  It's sad when something you love is just left to rot like this.  I'm sorry, but I am feeling very frustrated and this game is just not fun anymore as I said in the other posts, I get angry every time I play.

At this point the cheating has gotten so bad it is beyond being fixed by a better anti cheat program.  The only options now are (as I said in the other post) do what Fortnite did and send legal notices to the makers of the cheats, allow everyone to start using cheats with no threat of repercussions, or just let the game go (as being done now) where it is "cheat all you want" as long as your cheats are good enough to bypass the latest patch of the anti cheat.  The latter will surely bankrupt the game in less than a year.

I'm going to try EAs complaint process since that is what they want, but is it going to matter at this point?  All of us in this forum are the most dedicated legit players, but the ones on the cheaters discord outnumber us and probably spend more money.  Are they apt to listen to us?

While doing this, I might just wait the rest of this Bloodhound season out since for some reason it has more vulnerabilities being exploited than the last season (which is saying a lot).

  • I don't know if its cheats or not but I'm right next to people this season and my shots aren't registering...I'm even seeing the hit markers but its not doing anything. I'm noticing less cheaters, but theres still at least one per game, or one thats super sus

Yeah, I believe there is something in the coding for the new material for this season that has really messed the game up.  If it is cheats, they are exploiting these things to the max.  Regardless, the biggest change they made this season other than Bloodhound's rework was to the guns with those attachments (which I have yet to see in the actual game except in the firing range) and with several of the guns being buffed and nerfed.  I wonder if something new  with the coding of the guns is causing them to not register hits and is providing some kind of vulnerability that cheaters could exploit?

I noticed this game really didn't start having this many problems until season 20 started, then it got better once some patches were made, then about 5 seasons later it got worse again.  Weird.

I can understand the frustration with this type of experience AymCTL, but what you're describing is not cheating, it more resembles severe connection issues. Out of curiosity, have you ever gone through any of these steps to see if those symptoms improve?

Can you record your gameplay at all? If you have a video of any of this happening, I'd love to see it and be able to pass it along to the team. Feel free to DM me a link if you're able to capture that and it includes player names.

To be clear, we devote a great number of resources and attention to combatting actual cheating, and it is in no way, shape, or form permitted, encouraged, or overlooked just because the account may have spent money. Here's the latest from the Anti-Cheat team as well, in case that update was missed previously.

I can try to do some recording, but it is blatant cheating and has nothing at all to do with connection issues.  One way you can spot a blatant cheater is a legit player will always take cover or strafe and never run through gunfire, sometimes from multiple players, to come to you and shoot you down up close.    You can tell these players know full well the shots are not going to do any damage while they chase you.

Another reason is my teammates are experiencing the same thing.  Also, there are other things they do like run 10x faster than the game normally permits, such as I saw an Ash running faster than Octane does during a stim  and strafing back and forth and jumping at least over 3x the possible jump height for the game.  When they shoot you through a wall or crate when you take cover they know beforehand their shot will go through, and I have had several find me in places they had no way of knowing I was standing.  Also they all have rapid fire, which means most probably have apex beam running. A huge portion of players in Wildcard are definitely advantage players using hacks and cheats.

The article you posted says they did 6,000 hardware bans, but remember there are hackers who pay a monthly subscription to programmers to catch the cheats up to the latest version of the anti cheat.  If 70% of the players cheat (Zeus actually researched each pred by name to come up with this number, and I heard District mention it once too), then kicking 70% of the game out would shut the game down.  So, it is a catch 22, there is no way for the anti cheat to catch up to them fast enough to stop it completely, and even if it could throwing that many players out at once just isn't realistic.  So, it comes down to forcing these players to play by the rules and relearn the game by putting in 6 hours in the firing range on Saturdays like I had to when I first started, and stop cheating. I still think them taking legal action like Fortnite did is the only possible solution at this point.  Throwing them all out would bankrupt the game, but at the same time the legit players will keep leaving since they can't compete with cheaters.

Wildcard and mixtape are both getting near unplayable.  I would like to do some recording of my gameplay like you said.  It might make a difference. It's too bad they don't have the in game recording like Fortnite does.  Maybe the devs should consider that idea since it would cut down on a lot of the cheating if people knew they could get their play footage reviewed by the anti cheat team at anytime.

If 70% of the players cheat

I'll stop you right there, this is completely inaccurate. So if you're basing your premise on this, I'm afraid it's not going to be accurate from the start. There are no concerns here that kicking out the cheaters is a bad thing for the game, whatsoever. :)

6,000 hardware bans was a figure within that specific period of time, but just as cheats are updated, so to are our multiple, various systems and methods to detect and remove them from the game. This is an ongoing process, not one where a single solution will permanently solve cheating forever. That would be celebrated across the entire industry if such a thing were achieved, this is a prevalent issue across the board sadly.

We're not at that point yet of course, but this is a priority that we'll continue to invest in and tackle from multiple different angles.
