Clarification

It is my understanding that you can use the Chronus Zen for no recoil per statements by devs. I just want to clarify this as it’s all I see now in games. I just need to know that I can use it without risk of being banned.

  • @Underkon24 I don't KNOW what respawn's opinion is, but common sense tells me they condemn the use of controller mods. On the other hand, Chronus claims the mod presents to the console as a normal controller - meaning respawn has no way of proving you're using it.

The only argument I can see in favor of using one is, "Everybody else is doing it." It's a weak argument, but an argument nonetheless. If you really believe that it's true. I don't, but if you do then let's say you buy one, plug it in, and start shooting. You gain, what? Maybe half a tier in ranked? And then suddenly you're playing exclusively against people who also have one or whose brains are wired that way. Honestly not seeing the gain as worth the money, let alone worth the d-bag status that most definitely comes with it.

I'd love to read the quote that led you to believe that nonsense.

  • I am completely there with you. I just came back to the game after 2 seasons and see more and more obvious use of these assists. I don’t mind getting beat, but game after game, I see people snatch up a 99 with no mods and unleash pinpoint magazines into people from 100 to 150 yards away. Amazingly, those people never use optics and their movement is complete trash. I’ve seen great players be great players, but they have the full packages. Movement, aim, consistency and strategy. This is more of a sarcastic post because the game is trashed by these people because devs said that they can’t detect the use of the equipment. I, personally won’t waste the money on one.

  • @Underkon24 I made a pretty active thread where this was discussed. More knowledgeable people than myself say that the devs are indeed against this, however I know ACTUAL people using macros that haven’t been banned (for years!).

I think its a mix of:
    a) they can’t detect the cheat because it’s from the controller, and

    b) there simply aren’t enough anti-cheat staff

I dislike when people exaggerate. Without exaggeration, I run into obvious macro users on PSN every single day. Not once in a while— every day. The most obvious macro isn’t even the anti-recoil, it’s the rapid fire. I’m pretty confident a good deal of players in D2 and up are using these “advantages”.

They stated that they couldn’t detect the Chronus being used. That’s alll the quote they need. Let people know that it can’t be detected and it will be abused. You can “discourage” it all you want, but when people know you struggle with even detecting the device, they will take advantage of it. Everyday, I see it. Not every game, but I would say most games you come across it. It’s a whole generation of trash kids that were handed trophies for “showing up”.

I don't know how this got to be the default explanation for every bad behavior in gaming. Or in life. Snowflakes this and snowflakes that. It seems a lot more likely to me that normal people put into competitive environments will do whatever it takes to give themselves an edge, especially if that edge will not explicitly get them punished. It's what anyone is taught who pays attention to the way businesses work, the way government works, and most certainly the way professional sports works. So please let's stop blaming kindergarten teachers for not screaming obscenities at five-year-olds when they make mistakes.
  • @Underkon24 No this is incorrect. They've said strike packs with anti recoil were not allowed so why would another device be ok.

Also there's a known issue with spectator mode not showing things properly so you may think everyone doesn't have recoil but this could just be a bug.
  • I am aware of the “bug”. It’s not the movement of the gun, but the bullet pattern. Watch actual cheats and watch good players and you can clearly tell the difference. Strike packs and the Chronus are different in their controller interaction and detection of such.

  • Understand that I believe in integrity. All I am alluding to is a generation that has very blurred ideas of even the idea of integrity. I have 2 kids of my own and work very hard to teach them the concept of hard work and time put in resulting in success. Not cheat and/or manipulate the system to get from A to B. If you are personally part of the latter, sorry, not sorry. If not, then good on you.

The tos is quite explisit on this case, strikepacks in its own is not the criminal here, its the mods/macros/... a dominator for instance has a competition mode, then no mods can be loaded or similar into it then its just backpaddles, I used this on PS4 season 3-5 (in competition mode) until I got myself a proper elite controller, because well budget issues 😃 if you check the tos: https://tos.ea.com/legalapp/WEBTERMS/US/en/PC/

chapter 6. rules of conduct, on of the bullets there are:

    • Use or distribute unauthorized software programs or tools (such as "auto", "macro", hack or cheat software), or use exploits, bugs or problems in an EA Service to gain unfair advantage.

This would also count for mounting mouse and keyboard to a chronus zen to get mnk with aimassist, that is an exploit enabled by an external tool.

Just a side note, some of the elite controllers can also use mods, but they still legal as long as you dont use said mods. In general I hope an official can comment here regarding the strike packs now as there been an intensification in the heat for said strikepacks, and especially the chronus zen so I do not know the latest policy of EA, what I did was get an elite controller without mod support and just be done with it and not wonder if I was walking in gray area world anymore - dont want to get banned 😉
