- @Peri_Longbow_plz Nobody makes you do anything. Human beings are more than capable of being responsible for their own actions.
It is not hypocritical in the slightest. I never claim that every teammate plays their part perfectly but if you're rolling the dice on your teammates you need to be prepared to stick out the bad rolls.
At a MAXIMUM we are talking 2 minutes here. If your banner gets picked up and you don't get respawned in 2 minutes you can leave (actually I think it's less than that).
The root problem here is that people who leave games prematurely can't give another random player the benefit of the doubt for a mere 120 seconds. If that isn't the definition of toxicity, then I don't know what is. This needs addressed. Plain and simple. I also think there is a fair amount of hyperbole going around here.
I am a level 500 player with over 1k hours in Apex, and I can say beyond any shadow of a doubt that the number of games ive seen people ACTIVELY throwing (landing across map, punching repeatedly on drop, grabbing banners without respawning) are minimal.
Anecdotally, I would say 2% of games I play contain a downright troll.
However I would say at LEAST 50% contain an abandoner. Something doesn't add up here.
- @Peri_Longbow_plz If you are forced to leave 1 out of every 4 game, then at this point you are just looking for slightest chance to quit. All the examples you provided are so rare. You don't want to actually play the game, but just land, die and repeat.
- @blkarmphoenix The more I think of this, the more I realize this will never happen. And it shouldn't, because punitive consequences don't fix the cause of the problem, but actually shift the focus further way from it.
The better approach is to add value to the dead (waiting) time, make it more interesting or more worthy. Respawn added the mobile beacon and are now introducing the survival slot to encourage more players to carry beacons. Obviously, these will not resolve the problem, but might make a visible difference, as the risk factor and average time waiting for respawn will get greatly reduced. - @BaldWraithSimp No? Don't make assumptions about how I play, thank you very much. If I didn't want to play the game, I wouldn't even show my face in the forums and play something else. As simple as that.
But when some players act like they're intentionally trying to be bad, then I honestly see no need to stick around. The moment someone in my squad parts too far from the group, or do everything else but fight an enemy squad, this is honestly more damaging for the gameplay than me leaving when someone was obviously not being a team player.
Or what makes me - in your eyes - a worse team player than the guy who runs 200 meters away and parts from the group, so effectively my squad mate and I are are a 2-man squad? I'd like to hear an explanation from your side. Because so far all I heard was "Peri bad!" @Peri_Longbow_plzOh, I can answer you this one 🙂
You are worse than the guy going 200m away because you've already drawn the conclusion that he's not a team player, while there's a chance that he is and knows well how to support his team even from that distance. If you want to be better, stop judging and jumping to conclusions. Be more patient, communicate more, try to look at things more objectively.
@DoYaSeeMeHmm... You might be right about this one. Perhaps the guy found a secret that gives him a necromancer character to revive his dead team mates without a drop ship that screams "Come here, free kills"
I don't really need to jump to conclusions. If I go down and the enemy team already fully healed up and looted our boxes, the support came way too late. And unless the ally that was 200 meters away has a Crypto who can drone his way to our boxes to collect the banners safely, I don't see any too lucrative way obtain our banners. Because as well all know, the enemy team can tell if we were parted from our team mate or not, because they didn't say the voice line "That was the last of that squad", so chances are they're gonna camp us for that last kill.
I appreciate the attempt but... No. 🙂PS: I use voice chat and pings. So there is no way they couldn't hear me.
- @Peri_Longbow_plz Well, I've personally done this many times and it worked. Sure, some of the teammates left if downed or killed, but I was able to live and fight for much longer and even win solo or with the help of the other teammate. I've even been able to squad wipe alone, although I'm an average player, because I had the element of surprise and better gear.
As for the pings and voice chat, you may be wrong again. For example, I mute teammates a lot of times because I want to focus on the sounds of the game. Also, you are probably aware that there are issues with sounds missing in this game. Guess what: pings are also sounds, so they can have the same problem of not getting triggered. It happened to me a few times, I actually blamed a few for pushing unanounced before discovering this issue. And you know what other sounds keep missing more often lately? "We're being attacked by another squad!", "That was the last of that squad"... - @Peri_Longbow_plz what do you mean acceptive? Just because we want leavers punished doesn't mean we condone trolls/griefers. It's just that we experience more leavers than we experience trolls, there's nothing hypocritical about it. First and foremost trolls and griefers should have been a reportable offense to begin with anyway I don't know why they don't have this in their report system.
I wonder how many leavers leave to avoid deaths. Think about the ones that only get knocked and leave before the death. Maybe if leaving when knocked counted as a death people wouldnt leave as much?
I think lots leave just because of this.
