I haven’t launched this game for 25 days now—even though I miss it—but I can see that nothing has changed.
I’ll drop by again in a month, likely just to read the same old topics. After three years of playing every single day, all that’s left are memories. I’ll try to remember only the better moments. :)
The matchmaking gradually got worse and took longer, leading me to play against the same people for months on end—eventually, I just had enough. It was constantly the same three-player premade groups using controllers; most opponents would wipe you out with a single magazine, often before you even knew where the fire was coming from.
The hardest part was breaking free from the game and finally telling myself, "enough." Fortunately, I managed to do it, and I feel much better now.
Honestly, I’m afraid to go back—I don’t want to fall back into that same spiral of constant pressure, stress, and the rage that comes from being killed by a "sus" (suspicious) player in every other match.
Apparently, they’ve also forced crossplay on the US West server as part of some testing. This is bad news for mouse-and-keyboard (MnK) players, who have no way to disable it. I fear that this test will end with forced crossplay being implemented across every region, all because of long matchmaking times (a result of a massive drop in the player base over the last two months). This could completely finish off the MnK player population. It seems that an era in Apex Legends is coming to an end right before our eyes.
Good luck Legends! ❤️
