Get rid of tier demotion protection

It’s one of the stupidest things in the game, a ranked system that just lets you freely throw every single game with no punishment what so ever?

I’m sick of trying to grind my way to the next rank while some halfwit in tier 4 of my current rank drops solo, tries to 1v3 fights, runs off half way across the map and just generally disregards his other two teammates because they know they’ve got absolutely nothing to lose and no matter how badly they play there is zero repercussion

its literally a no risk/ high reward situation, you can either stick with your team and try and win and earn a lot of RP, or you can just do what you want, die early and lose zero RP. Where’s the logic in that??!

It needs to change, we need a system where if these people actually want to throw games and not play smart then they’re gonna go back down to Plat 1, Gold 1, Silver 1 ect.

@Bean2kay9 I'd also like to see them eliminate placement RP and replace with a multiplier for your KP.

I think at best placement RP alone should be enough to break even. If you don't get any kills or assists you should not be moving up in rank. Killing enemies is part of the game and part of winning matches. If you can't do it you don't belong in high ranks.

I don't know if they have lag compensation in ranked but if they do it needs to be removed. I do know people who will only play on servers in which they have 90-110 ping claiming it gives them an advantage. I would assume that's the reason some people can shoot me when I'm around corners or behind cover amongst other things.

@DarthValtrex placement RP imho is just redundant tbh. I do understand needing to reward 3rd,2nd and 1st place but anything else is just weird. It's like a participation reward or something. You don't need to reward survival in a BR game because survival is the main goal of the game anyway.They should reward people who get into a fight and win. Rewards should always come with risk the bigger the risk the better the reward.

@Bean2kay9 This. I know that I would have a much harder time climbing if this is implemented but I also want this so I can truly tell how good I am in the game. Right now it's just a coinflip if I get teammates that are actually good or I get teammates that is just barely holding on to Plat 4.

@Daze623The one issue i see with this is that it would definitely encourage hot dropping amongst other things. I'd also see an issue with it if you drop to a slow area and don't bump into anyone until top 3.. What are you supposed to do for RP/KP?

I don't know what the solution is honestly. But there are far too many people in Platinum+ who do not belong there.

I agree but I think that would only be a case at the start. Once people understand that it's not really worth relying too much on luck people will slowly spread out.

That's why people need to be more strategic with their drop location and rotation. If you drop too far you might as well go next game.

The other thing though is this is definitely gonna encourage third partying more. And I don't know if that's good or bad.

@Daze623 in games like overwatch people abuse rank demotion and lose on purpose which brings other people down with them.

if you want to have rank demotion then you pay money cash for the privilege 20 dollars or so. also pay for rank promotion 20 dollars or so. thats the best way, this way if your getting paired with dummies you just pay to get to the rank you want.

@Bean2kay9 Tier demotion would work great if you're a hard stuck on your current rank, so you don't get to play with higher skilled players, but at the same time, you will keep seeing higher skilled players dropping in on your rank, which not any better than smurfs.
