This is a feature in a lot of shooting games and I believe it would fit into apex because it would add a new style to deal melee damage. In my opinion, there should be an option to melee someone with the butt of your gun and this would deal 30 damage as usual. This was a thought that came to my mind when thinking about new features to be added.

It is a great idea, i would like even to see and use knives within the game.
My only doubt is the damage: for my personal taste i would reduce the damage dealt with punches from 30 to 15 and set to 30 dmg any other melee
I think gun melee fits better in pre modern era settings such as WW1 and WW2 which is based on conscripted soldiers with only basic training.
In sci-fi action genre the soldiers are able to do everything to the maximum. That's why they speak every language, know every martial art etc.
The hand to hand melee in Apex is amusing which is important.
