Heirloom Update Coming March - Respawn neglecting preexisting heirloom owners
I currently own 3 heirlooms (Bloodhood, Lifeline, and Pathfinder) when I truly only wanted Kunai. With the introduction of the new system you will now receive a shard that can be used to redeem any heirloom you want. I've vouched for this addition for a while (First Post, Quality of Life Improvements) and happy to see it was implemented. One big issue that is very apparent are the preexisting players to spent money or were lucky to receive an heirloom randomly. You don't have to dig that far to find 20k kill legend mains that weren't lucky enough to get their desired heirloom.
Some Examples:
- Heirlooms by @BOT_Rekles
- Tried to Swap heirlom : Got best customer service I have ever recieved by @ZeChimple
- Who says 500$ is guaranteed kunai?? by @iTrapkw
- You can’t get the heirloom you want by @DemonOCE
- Is it possible to Exchange item for item by @b81xxypz7jjz
- Heirlooms by @GenZorla
- Etc
Understand this only took me 3 minutes to get and input them into the post. There are thousands of people that have experienced this both unreported and reported whether that be on EA forums or Apex Reddit. These's people went through the trouble to spend the money that they may or may not have with an intention in mind. It's fair to say instances like the ones above pushed players off the game due to frustration.
On the QoL thread I suggested: "People that have unlocked heirlooms pre-system change will have the ability to trade in one heirloom for another.".
- This is a fair compromise as it will improve the outlook of the game to those who were unlucky enough to not get what they want.
It got added onto the QoL main posted but rewritten as: "People that have unlocked heirlooms pre-system change will have the ability to trade in one heirloom for another for one week after the update."
- This is just as fair although it doesn't give time to those who don't keep up with game updates. I assume if this was implemented, you would have to contact support stating you weren't aware.
I simply just awareness for this problem.
Edit:
This was posted 4 hours ago by @RoyalGuardianG. Truly unfortunate. Link for proof
"Bro I feel you man. I got my first heir loom the day before they announced the new system. And it's not even a character I play. If I new they were changing it, I wouldn't have opened my packs."
Posted this thread by the same person
"I just think it would be a good quality of life change to the game. I did get the kunai two days ago and was hoping for the axe, and then the next day the announced this so I was kinda mad."
This should be added, it just doesn't make sense not to.
- @Yokerui I think most understand your perspective but look at it from Respawns/EA's. If you spend that amount on luck of the dice pixels first time round then chances are, if you want that specific heirloom, you'll likely do it again. By effectively refunding the one you have for the one you want means you're not going to keep spending.
You got EA'd.. Accept it. Fool me once shame on you but fool me twice...
