@Warz0ne_Legends not dying, but I sure wouldn't call it thriving. It's kind of like, a poorly treated fish in a home aquarium.
Sure it doesn't have to worry about food or predators, but there's no enrichment nor a high QoL standard. It'll probably sputter out and die, but most likely when no one's looking.
I said this way back in April. This game is dying. If not for COVID and everyone stuck in homes it would have been dead back then. Apex own worst enemy.. Had top running game everyone playing. Then that November 19’ patch to insert SBMM. Nerf every gun in game. Nerf ever character in game. Cater to top players. Allow premade predator hack job teams to destroy both ends of player levels by twinks of same group. Don’t address hackers, scripters or kb/m on console or any platform. Sound been wacky from day one. Player base so thin now games have to pull players from so many different servers to fill the GD SBMM games tend to be laggy causing bad hit register along with poor sound quality. And as soon as cross platform hit. It will be like dropping a bomb on this game. For absolute sure on console end. So kill it off Apex. I still play your game and to my word. I have not spent one dime in here since April. Keep doing what streamers want and they going be only one in here.
- @MrMuted I still dont get why people keep saying consoles are going to get wrecked when cross play happens. If you only play with console players you dont have to play against PC cheats.
Also the mixture of players within a queue may not be because of low player count. They may have opened up the sbmm due to high level players complaining.
As for @pastaclown mention of when it will die. It will fully die when another game that is better replaces it. It is only a matter of time. I have zero regrets over spending some cash on it tho. @MandatoryIDtag They could, but Apex really needs to stop giving out rewards for a game until you at least 'gray out' and can't respawn. And for all those worried about getting their beacon picked up and then carried around forever without being respawned...first of all that still hurts the player doing it because they don't have a team mate. And second, you should know what you signed on for when you did a game.
I'm not saying don't let players quit. But still giving them rewards for things like games completed if they just hit the dropship screen has to end for people to start feeling things about sticking around.- @MandatoryIDtag I remember proposing something of the sorts a while ago, like wondering in the void, fighting your way back , something a little similar to the Gulag in Warzone, but inspired by the throne worlds from Destiny.
The problem, though, is that extra activities can add load to the servers (extra data to process and track) and the result could mean more net related problems. Also, not convinced it would reduce the number of leavers effectively enough to be worth the trouble. @DoYaSeeMe Yeah I suppose. It feels like apex is tearing at the seams lately, I guess adding any bulky content like that would probably be more harmful in the long run.
I like the game, I’m going to play it either way. But how you play it right now is you dump early on 3-4 out of every 5 games if you want to enjoy Apex. Worse, min 2 out of that 3-4 is leave within 1 min of landing.
I did not design this game, I am playing it the way it was designed. If Respawn wants something different like for me to finish most of my games then they should fix their game. Otherwise I have to assume this is how they intended it to be,
I hope so.

People like to say us forum folk are the vocal minority— but the Internet can be a powerful thing. There has been a lot of “bad press” recently regarding EA, Respawn, and the matchmaking. And on top of all that, there is a growing community of players that are growing VERY TIRED of the content pace.
Whether the game is actually dying or not, you CANNOT with a straight face tell me that things are “looking good”.
And don’t give me: “it’s a free game; lower your expectation.” They are nearing a billion dollars in profits for Apex— thats our money that could be reinvested back into the product but apparently we still have to deal with BASIC GAME issues like the audio completely failing.
Come on man. - DarthValtrex5 years agoHero (Retired)@Getsum2023 they earned those millions. I've spent money on Apex and do so not because I need to. But I spend a little bit of money here and there to support a game I enjoy. EA, Respawn and the devs who work on the game earned every penny of it IMO.
I'm okay with the slower content releases right now. Work from home has created a ton of challenges for all businesses and their staff. I've been impressed with what they have been able to provide so far.
