Legality and banning concerns
While you intentions appear benign, it would be easy to misconstrue them, one adjustment to a config file is much the same as another. So with that in mind, all I know is the following:
"When you access or use an EA Service, you agree that you will not:"
"Modify any file or any other part of the EA Service that EA does not specifically authorize you to modify."
https://www.ea.com/legal/user-agreement
Adjusting config files has been allowed in the past in tournaments, but it was specifically allowed for in the rules for those tournaments, but not in recent tournaments.
Scripts and macros that give an advantage are obviously cheating.
"We ask everyone to play within the rules of the game and refrain from tampering or using cheats"
https://www.ea.com/security/amp/news/eaac-deep-dive
You can only fiddle with the in game settings, it is a good rule not to get yourself banned now or in the future.
"Keep Things Fair
Play games the way that they are meant to be played.
Don’t: Use exploits, cheats, undocumented features, design errors, bugs or problems to get a leg up on others"
